The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Yep, it is sad and yes, I do think there is some depression involved; having lost two wives to cancer. He can be cantankerous and has probably alienated some of the villagers but then he probably could not be described as a people person either.

I am not judging him if that is how he wants to live, but as I live here now also, I have to think of my well being too and while I will not mess with his 'clutter', I am not going to tolerate fleas, dirt, grime and general unhealthiness.

Aww sorry, thays sad :(

And you shouldn't have to either! That's unsafe!

I wish books weren't so darn expensive. :(

I am trying to find books for my brother and gf. I have a bunch saved in Amazon list and some I own if I could ever find them lol .

I was going to buy some but too pricey.

I mean, they're not THAT expensive but $10 or $12 bucks or sometimes more for 5-7 or 10 books.... that very quickly adds up lol

Of course, that's never stopped me before, as evidenced by all the books in my closet, and some would be nice to have, but I am trying to save up as we are going to NY next weekend and I also eventually want to move out. And we're trying too get the credit cards down. I've bought wayy too much lately. So I am trying to control myself. Which is not easy. LOL

SO.

ANYWAY.

I'm getting a bit rambly but I think instead of buying them I am going to go to the library tomorrow or sometime this weekend and see what they have in stock. I think you can "order" books so to speak too.

I just got a library card yesterday. Haven't had one in a while but you can do cook online stuff like access databases and I think they even have TV shows and movies. So it's worth it. Plus we have a local network of like 14 libraries so you can get books from any of those too.

Anyway, I figure I can read the books, see if I like them or would recommend. Even though most come highly recommended by lots of people. I still would like to check it out first.

I finally helped my little quail hatch - its membrane, despite being well oiled, was getting tighter and I could see it was breathing more shallowly. It was only just ready to come though as I hit a tiny bit of blood as I helped before it pushed itself free. When its wing peeled back from its face and that big eye looked at me my heart melted! I was worried for a minute it had curled toes but they are fine. You'll have to wait for a photo though as my camera battery ran out before it had downloaded the photos! :barnie

Do you think that lady's dogs were 'puppy mill' puppies perhaps? I know those poor things can be kept in such filthy conditions that you don't have a hope of training them to toilet properly. I'd be keeping them in a crate indoors and making sure they had a secured run outdoors they could go in. Our dog stays on her bed unless we tell her to get off inside. I couldn't cope with the dog hair everywhere otherwise! Some days she leaves a trail!
