The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

We have people doing the siding on the house. Started yesterday and they've made a lot of progress already. Have like all the siding off and put in our 2 new windows. One of mom's windows was cracked and very broken and needed to be replaced. The other window was in my room. We replaced the one on the back of the house along with the other 2 windows in the back (bathroom and one of brother's) like a year or two ago when we did the bathroom but hadn't done the other one in my room yet. My windows were old and needed to be done. Except both these windows were sitting in the garage for years so turns out they are both vinyl and the others we put in are wood. But that's okay, you won't really be able to tell when you paint the other one.

I have also been having a lot of jaw pain lately :( and sometimes wrist/thumb like if I grab something a certain way :/

But the jaw is way worse because now it's starting to sometimes hurt when I eat. And for a while it's clicked and occasionally just started hurting and caused migraines. I keep thinking I'm getting migraines and I do get that too but I'm realizing I think a lot is jaw pain. So anyway, this week has been especially bad. Has hurt while I eat a few times and now today my whole face hurts. The migraine causing thing. So I just took Excedrin. Advil and Tylenol kinda stopped working for my migraines and doesn't really help with the jaw. Excedrin works great. Usually. Right now it's being slow to kick in. But I worry abour taking NSAIDS or drugs in general so often because it will eventually lead to liver or kidney damage, stomach problems, etc. And it's like do I suffer through jaw pain or potentially have far worse, permanent illnesses later?

Although atm I was just feeling my face and I wonder if maybe it's some sort of sinus infection?

Either way, I need to do something. Because I feel like there could be something up with my ears too, they seem tighter or something, idk.

I am in so much pain though between all this shit :(

And I've been getting really bad dry eyes and sometimes dry mouth.

And I feel my shoulders are screwed up too and/or my finger joints. I'm a mess haha
Nice house work!

This is the beginning of what happens as you age--Aches and pains get progressively worse and I am not into the worst of it yet at 58 years old.

The advice being given now is to keep moving even if it hurts some to do so. Don't hurt yourself with vigorous exercise but walk and move

Think it's time you saw a doctor. I can't recall the name but, there is a problem people can have with their jaw being out of alignment - and it makes clicking or popping noises.

I'm sure Ron or NFC will be along with the answers.
TMJ. It is a joint issue and can sometimes be corrected by a Dentist. Do you grind your teeth at night? If so, a mouth guard might help. Sometimes tooth alignment can help too. Adjusting the bite not necessarily orthodontics.

You can check with a Dentist first and then a Dr. based on what They say

Thanks! They work fast. That was all done yesterday. They were originally going to do the windows today but got further than they thought. They didn't leave until like 7 last night then today came back at like 8.

And yeah, I don't move like at all anymore. Barely even more around the house ha

And I also crack everything, neck and fingers especially and I cut my nails way too short usually/cut the skin around it now too. And I've noticed when I do that they obviously hurt but also seems to affect the nerves or something? So I wonder if that cutting them so short/cutting some skin on tips of fingers could cause problems?? And cracking them so often I think does but idk. I don't do the usual cracking some people do where you press really hard on the top or whatever, could never do that, I do this other kind of OCD thing and press them against the other hand/side of finger. Idk. Hard to explain. I could film it. But I feel like manipulating them so weird may hurt them?

And I feel like cracking my neck might be causing problems? I also used to do this OCD thing where I'd like stretch it/turn it different ways which I think might be worse than the cracking.

Thanks. Weird thing is at physicals (which I just had one in January) I'm like nope, nothing wrong, nothing new, even though I've had these problems a while. I also have digestion problems and this weird off and on pain in the abdomen so I didn't want to seem like a hypochondriac lol

Thanks. I do think I have that or a sinus issue. I get a lot of water in my ears. And I am paranoid I f***** up my esophagus and/or ears with the above described OCD neck thing.

I don't think I grind my teeth but idk because I'm asleep lol how do I tell? I think I might sometimes do it during the day though cause sometimes my dad tells me to stop. And my brother does so it wouldn't surprise me.

I had braces a lot when younger and even got them again in high school but then my teeth went back to how they were.

I keep losing my retainer.

The Dentist should be able to tell if you grind your teeth. Grinding leaves marks on the teeth. A mouth guard could help a lot if so

Home again! Nice to have a short day to start with because they'll get longer from here on out.

@JaeG glad that wind didn't mess you up. For a second I thought maybe you'd moved to WY over the night :p

@CapricornFarm pretty flowers!

@Jetblack2004 hello, nice to have you join us! It's been good to see you doing the "greet new member" thing too :)

@DigMyChicks hopefully you're home and done that the "bad" job now.

DW had a mouth guard, I guess she stopped grinding because she doesn't have one now.
Younger sister had TMJ issues, eventually had surgery to correct it.

KD, if you don't tell, the Dr. doesn't know to ask!

That's very true!! I think I might ask. I am supposed to go back this month for another ultrasound but personally I think the jaw stuff is wayyyy more of an issue.
