The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good Morning Friends :hugs

I got nuff’n, including Shingles! :p

In ‘be patient’ mode.. I have an application in now with 3 mediscribe companies from which I may hear back in the next 7-14 days; resignation drafted [yep LOL]; thank you to CEO drafted, basically because he is the only management-type I respect and want to thank; sole trader taxation requirements researched and ready to implement.

Other research indicates that I am definitely not going to be on big bucks but luckily we are in a position where the big bucks would be nice but not critical with hubby having a well paid, full time job. However, if I commit and strive, I have the opportunity to beat the average income.

I am actually a little excited about the challenge of this new enterprise and looking forward to being accountable for my decisions and not other people's decisions and receiving reward for effort.
good luck! I hope you get a position

My aunt had shingles last year and it was horrible. So you should get the shot. Although oddly, she thinks she got it because her husband (my uncle) had gotten the shot. I think it is a live vaccine? Or something.
As far as I know, it's just the chicken pox resurfacing. It's the herpes simplex virus, which never leaves your system once it's in.

Take it from one who has had shingles:
You DO NOT WANT TO GET SHINGLES!!!! (except on your roof)

New vaccine is suggested for those 50 and older. The last one was 60 and older. I had shingles at 55. Right up there on the pain scale with kidney stones. Kill me, now, PLEASE.
Shingles can run down any nerve, some people get it in their throat! I can't imagine. With mine the pain shot around my back, down to my thigh and went around to the quad then down to my ankle. It wasn't constant but during some "events" it felt like someone drove a kitchen knife in my quad and twisted it back and forth.

So, if you are 50 or over and had chicken pox as a kid, I suggest you get the new vaccine.
I had chicken pox in my throat, ear canal and female private parts. I don't even want to imagine what shingles would be like.
I'll be 52 this summer, so definitely planning on getting the shot.
