The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

God given rain and sun, that’s my secret.

Or a Mastiff....holy cow it’s like getting hit with a bat.

You don't use fertilizer or anything?

You need @Michelle Farmer-Brown to help you! She wouldn't be drunk at the tables.
I hope your "help" managed to stay out of her bottle last night and shows up. No people that actually want to work up there??

Who are you kidding? She's protecting HER pizza!
Couldn't "like" the headache post. I hope it cleared up quickly.

LOL true. Maybe protecting it from the dog. :p

And thank you. At first it was sinuses so I took this at like 3 or 4? But it didn't do much. I should have taken Excedrin.

Then I took a 2 hour nap from about 5:30 to 7:30 then took a shower (and about an hour after the shower my nose loosened up) and had a big can of chicken noodle soup since I couldn't eat much else. By this point I was also nauseous and it's about when my head started pounding. Felt a bit better after soup. Then I had tea and went upstairs at I think 11 somewhere around there. But couldn't sleep. I think I fell asleep till like 1 or 1:30 but then I woke back up. I couldn't sleep cause I was so nauseus. Not be TMI but finally around 1 I uhh.. emptied my stomach shall we say... and felt much better cause I had eaten a lot that day and slept till about 3. Then again till 7 or 7:30. And intermittent this morning. Basically very broken. The tubing kept falling out of the air conditioner so I'd wake up hot. It's one of those big ones with the tube that goes into the window to expell the heat so you can imagine when it falls out it HEATS the room.

This morning I'm feeling better but slight headache again and weird taste in mouth/almost nausea. I brushed my teeth last night so idk why I'd feel weird. Hoping after I eat something I'll feel better

Wish you could be here Sean, I know you're a hard worker!

Just to clarify (and hopefully to not sound like such a cold-hearted b)...her problem is alcohol and she's not a millennial but around 50 yrs. old. In the past 10 days, she's called in 3 times and when she does show up, she reeks. And dozes off...in a golf cart, at a dining room table, in the side room, etc. And she disappears. Yesterday I was seating customers, taking orders, cooking for them, serving and bussing tables. All because she kept disappearing.

Drives me nuts.
Why are you keeping her around? Do you have to follow protocols of writing her up 3 times before dismissal? If so, I'd get that ball rolling sooner rather than later. I hate doing it, but sometimes that bullet has to be bitten.

Evening all :frow I'm home from work and don't have to go back until Monday.
Good morning :frow

Full day planned here, anyone want to come help me out? There's a group of 20 coming for a buffet lunch and they've ordered ribs, brisket, pulled pork, French fries, sweet potato tots, tossed salad and 2 desserts. Plus the dining room tables have to be jockeyed around so they can all see each other. Silver ware, condiments, water & soft drinks set up. All by 11am. :th

Don't know how much help I'll have today, we've been having issues with one of the full time employees calling in sick on a semi-regular basis. She finally came in yesterday after calling in the past 2 days. I told her she should go to a doc, she told me "doctors are expensive" and didn't like it a bit when I said missing work is expensive too. She didn't speak to me for the rest of the day

Enough whining, time to get going. I hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

I'd love too but suspect I'm too far away...

If I was closer, I would!!! Your employee sounds typical of millinals(sp), now days. Want $$$ but don't understand they have to show up to earn it!. I see it everyday!

Hope your buffet lunch goes well, I know it will, your incharge. :rant

My current boss doesn't understand the millennial mind set... They just don't come to work...

Wish you could be here Sean, I know you're a hard worker!

I wish I could be there too... I love kitchen duty.

Ditto on everything Sean said!

And she's still employed, I feel for you!!! I couldn’t work with her:rant
So sorry to hear that! I know exactly what your going through...my sister was an alcoholic. Passing out, in a fog all the time, not being able to hold a job, etc.... she passed away at 52 years due to psyrosis of the liver. A disease that inflicts us American Indians extremely to often. Horrible way to die!!! Nothing I did or the family did or tried to do to get her to sober up worked. My dad couldn't even get her committed to rehab, judges will not rule infavor unless the person themself agrees to committing to rehab. Really a sad situation. My moral support goes out to you Debby :hugs I hope for tbe best for you and her but I also know the reality of the situation. Sorry.
My oldest brother died 5 years ago due to alcoholism at 52. One of my sisters (51 now)has psyrosis of the liver. Four years ago she was in a hospital in Pennsylvania dying from it and my mom was in a nursing home in Minnesota dying from heart, kidney issues etc...not due to alcohol. We didn’t know who was going to die first...my sister pulled through. If she ever takes a drink again she will die. She’s had a stroke and is skin and bones so not a great quality of life. I hate alcohol! I have another sister that is a bad alcoholic also. It breaks my heart.

It sounds like you missed the addiction gene!

I am sorry for all of the addiction problems in your family.

When I did my Masters, one of the instructors said that most are not only abusing alcohol. They also abuse other drugs too
