The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Sharron, you and I are getting smarter about all this. :tongue on them (Kardashians) etc.

I think I saw a blurb for one of the K.girls/women that said she wanted a butt reduction, there must be a a valve or something she can release somewhere. Oh Nelly, I'm gonna get punished for saying that. :duc
:lau i agree dd, have you noticed the so called new programs on tv? they're bringing back all the old ones, they can't think of anything new themselves unless its something like "mom" or kids talking back to the parents, my daddy would have hauled off and knocked me flying if i had talked like that to him and momma, was also taught manners, please and thank you, getting old i guess :idunno:old

Sorry DMC, I missed this! Haven't been keeping up as closely as I should. The iPhone cameras are very impressive lately! I'm between that and a Pixel. Don't really like my android anymore. Samsung Galaxy S6. Maybe the new Galaxies are better. They are up to 8 or 9 now. I really just want a great camera and battery life. I go to a lot of concerts and low light shots are always the biggest challenge. I'm not sure any phone camera can handle it.
When you look for a new phone, pay attention to how many pixels it has. The more pixels, the better the resolution.

I get headaches from strong scents and barometric changes too. I’m glad they don’t get as bad as your daughters. Mine started when I was about 6. They aren’t as bad now as my teenage years were.

I’m 5 ft 2.5 inches...hubby is a foot taller.

I like my phone but it does not work good for anything like concerts. A lot of the pictures I take are in the daylight. There should be new iPhones coming out in September. They are costly though.

Nice surprise, good job! Jam has seeds, jelly does not.

9 days is a long time to suffer:hugs

Yeah, I'm not sure any phone does. Although I've actually gotten quite a few decent shots but it depends on the lighting in the venue, how close I am, the settings I put my phone on, etc. And of course usually it's with stage lights on so I guess it's not really that low light after all? But my phone gets really pixelly/blurry when zoomed in :(

And yeah iPhones are expensive haha they're impressive though.

Thank you!! And ah okay then it was jam I think

No phone camera is going to be good in low light. You need a lens with a really low F stop number. I think photos at low light concerts would be hard in any case if the show has a lot of flashing lights, drive an autofocus camera nuts.

PERFECT! Go grocery shopping together. You can get the stuff on the low shelves he can't see and he can get the stuff off the high shelves.

That's a good point, thanks. And yeah, lights are annoying. Sometimes lighting is terrible or weird colors and sometimes it's really bright or flashing.

Agreed! And the whole royal-mania thing, ugh. Do people really care about this stuff? And if so, why?

I actually kind of thought the r oyal wedding thing was fun lol although I wasn't that into it like some people, just watched bits and pieces, it's a little boring, but for a lot of girls/women it's fun and extremely romantic and like a real life fairy tale. Like the fairy tales we watched/read come true. And I think people like to get lost in the fun/magic and something a little crazy or whimsical or whatever sometimes because the world is pretty terrible lately so it's a few hours of fun and getting away from their lives and the poop world. At least that's my theory lol

That said, I don't really care about other celebrities and definitely not the Kardashians.

Although I do care about music lol

Nine came out on Aug. 8 of this year. My devices are stuck at 7.0. I am not getting an update to the latest version of 7!

The phone manufacturer has to code the update for the phone and then make is available for download to the phone. 7 will likely not be supported soon like 6 is now. When that happens, web sites like BYC will not work well anymore on 7.

Wow! I can't believe they're allowed to deny updates or whatever.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I think the biggest my phone takes is 16 mp

agree with that or yet another Kardashian minus clothes- if you've seen one, you've seen them all :rant
And any of those "events" would be a waste of time. I really don't get why people get their panties in a twist over people who are famous for being famous. Not like they have any talent to make them interesting like a good actor/actress or singer.

I looked at that chart and now I HAVE to eat some of the Oreos I bought yesterday. Thanks Ron. Hmm, either Nabisco cheated me or someone got into them already, several short of a full package.

But my phone gets really pixelly/blurry when zoomed in :(
No camera phone can optically zoom much, they don't have the lenses to do that. So "zoom" is digital. That means pixels are duplicated and the whole image expanded. And that by definition will make it fuzzy because the image isn't being captured "closer" just "expanded" to make it look closer. The more you zoom the fuzzier it gets. My camera has a 60X optical zoom. Now mind you that is 60X starting at wide angle, not "normal" size so it isn't like it is 60X the size you see with your eyes.

The other day went to take photos- none showed up. Put new batteries in, flash worked but nothing else. Went to back up camera. Didn't want flash - it flashed once and died.
New batteries didn't create a stir. Guess 12 or 13 years is a long time to have a camera.

Used them both extensively for the first few years and then just occasionally. I think they both gave up the ghost. :hitNew point & shoots don't have view finders. :rant

My son has a ton of cameras - all too complicated for me to use. My brother got a new camera every time my son did. My brother got them and then doesn't know how to use them. He's had quite a progression of cell phones, couldn't figure out how to use the cameras on them either. :idunno

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense. I never thought of it like that before.
