Maybe if I get my own puppy and train it really well and/or fix Gator's issues they'll believe my methods work. :lau

But they do listen to some of what I have to say or at least say they will and say I'm the "expert trainer" or whatever so they'll do what I'm doing but some things don't change and I'm not sure I'll ever convince them to stop yelling at the dog(s).

That's one thing no body tells you when you get a puppy - the amount of time and effort that you have to commit to in order for them to learn how to be a good dog. We'd only interacted with adult dogs before we got our pup so it was a real shock to the system to have to deal with all those puppy and adolescent behaviours. I think I'm maybe too strict on our dog but I've learned to relax over the years. A quick "Oi" or harsh "Ah" tells her to quit what she's doing and because I'm so strict she does as she's told. Sometimes hubby will tell her to do something and she'll look at me to make sure I'm ok with that too! :gig

Have you guys heard about what's going on in Australia at the moment with the strawberries? Someone is putting needles in them and they are still trying to work out what the heck is going on because you don't know how much of it is just copy cats and attention seekers. The very first incidence was a disgruntled worker but it seems to have snowballed. When they get to the bottom of it the people responsible should have the book thrown at them because that is economic terrorism. We import a lot of their strawberries and there's been an incident of it happening here now, so we might just be waiting for NZ strawberries to come into season (which should be very soon). But the tonnes of strawberries that have had to just be disposed of in Aussie, and the impacts on the poor growers is just terrible.
How awful!!

Puppies and dogs were the kids I didn't have when I was young, so I loved every minute of it. Also I worked at home - grooming dogs, having puppies or grown for sale, and stud service. Record keeping was important for AKC. But, I was there to let them know they weren't abandoned. Used to watch "dog tv," sitting outside with them. When they got bored conversation, they'd go back inside and nap.

Kind of the opposite. It's more a case of "is the mean lady going to let me do something fun"?
Oh, "good cop" "bad cop"!!!

Also I do think that telling him sit sit sit sit from an early age is teaching him that that's the command.
That could get ugly
roll over roll over roll over
play dead play dead play dead
sit up sit up sit up
give me the ball give me the ball give me the ball

maybe he has a bladder problem and can't help it

Yeah, sorry, poor wording, when I say "he's getting really bad" I didn't mean bad behavior wise but rather his illness I think :(

Or it could be a bladder thing, idk.

My parents were saying like he's sick and doesn't mean to and doesn't do it on purpose even though it seems like he does and not to be mean but I'm still stuck wanting to think it's a housetraining or behavior issue and that he's just bad. But I don't think it is. And idk why I was so weird and mean about it. Maybe because a housetraining issue is fixable?

We need to make a vet appointment though I think because he's also pooped a few times this week and been throwing up some so I think I'll call tomorrow/today (Monday).

He also has been barking every night off and on:barnie
