Maybe meds(?) affecting your calcium levels :idunno. Also prolonged periods of less activity (I should know from my sleepathons) cause a loss of bone

Do you feel confident with the doctors/surgeons you are seeing? I'm wondering if some of them are a bad as VA doctors the bus people talk about.

I bet George is happy to have so much time to spend with you.

I don't think so, it would show up in the x-rays if I did, and it isn't showing up but the doc is going to send me to an endocrinologist, so I'll find out for sure.
I think the bone was severely weakened by the screws used in the first surgery, good grief, they are 6" long and as big as a pencil in diameter. Total of 3 were used so, it had to have had to play some part in this break. It snapped just below where the screws were inserted.
That is just so awful for you! Do you have a new cast on?

Yep, he did say that my calcium levels were lower than the last time.
This kind of fracture is the hardest to heal. When the femur breaks below the node it doesn't heal very well.
Maybe you can speed your healing by concentrating on healing that bone. The power of positive thought is amazing.

Mom has one of those life alert necklaces... Once she gets down on the ground she cant get up.... (there is a story about me makeing her get one I will tell later)

OK shes got her groceies and shes putting them away.... There was a big jar of pickles or olive dont remember which. She left that out of the cubbord. Because she wanted some... Probably why she went shopping in the first place.

Any way it was about nine oclock at night and she wanted some. But work as she could she couldnt get the jar open... Hot water didnt work banging on it with the back of the knife didnt work.... so as an after thought she sat town on the floor to give herself some leverage...

Not only did it not work but she couldnt get up off the floor. She pressed her button.
Six firemen came to her rescue.... embarrassed she told them the whole story... Then she asked "Can someone open my jar for me"

they laughed leaving her happily scooping out her treat.... "Thank you ".

I think she has discovered a perk for the "Help I cant get up' button....:gig

My son had the clear braces, I think he got them off before last Christmas. But then he got stuck using the retainer. He wanted them for a long time but, I was/am in no position to put out that kind of money. He wanted it badly enough and paid whatever he needed too after his work insurance paid off.
I assume everyone gets the retainer.
On a scale of 1 to 10...11! :hit
Sorry to hear that:hugs
The doc's wanted to give me Hydracodone with Tylenol 3 but that stuff makes me nauseous and I have sever muscle spasms when using it. So I told them to give anything but that. Morphine was out of the question, so I got the next narcotic drug inline, Tramadol.
One of my sisters got addicted to hydracodone when she had shoulder surgery...not good!
Our DD has needed all sorts of hardware in her mouth to correct her crossbite. She's had a top and bottom plate in her mouth for years now slowly reshaping her bite, and she had braces briefly on some of her teeth. She's allowed to only wear the plates half the time now but she's so used to having them in she still wants to wear them all the time. Initially it was very difficult to understand her when she talked but now it's the opposite - if her plates are out I have trouble understanding what she's saying. :hugs

And more :hugs
Sometimes I can talk clear as a bell and next time it’s like talking with a mouth full of crackers.
