hoping the hard frost holds off for us for awhile, but if it frost we will dig the carrots and potatoes, will also pick the last of the watermelons so that they'll still be good to eat, they are soooo sweet, i saved seeds from a yellow one we bought last year at the auction, have no idea what kind it is other than its a yellow flesh with seeds :idunno, even husband likes it and he usually doesn't care for watermelon.even got a pink flesh one on the same vine, weird, side by side . keeping seeds again this winter too.
I had yellow watermelon years ago and it was very good. Messed with the head a little bit as it was yellow.

I hope not!! :ep :th

I think this is from England but still.

saving quite a few seeds, husbands been saving them for me after i already saved a bunch, so something should come up, gd brought over a bunch of the seeds from the pink one, along with a picture to show me,going to try not losing these since they are so good and i don't know what they are, this spring i planted four seeds in a hill and i think two or three came up, the rest of the seed i just threw on a pile of weeds from last year that were nice and composted, have no idea how many came up but had vines everywhere:lol:

I don't know which parts of your comment make me shudder the most...homelessness or being a landlord :lau Neither one appeals to me!

Bad Bruce!
:p

You are going to give up the free housing that comes with the golf course job?? And commute?? And pay on a mortgage?? I figured it was a "rental until we need it or sell it to buy something in Cody" house.

Good morning, river in flood stage, never saw it so high.
Good thing you are way up off that river!!!

My watermelon and squash vines went crazy this year due to all the timely rains and heat. I never watered them at all.

We're not giving up our jobs so not giving up on the company housing either. I don't work during the winter (my job is seasonal and the restaurant is closed) but DH is a year-round employee and has things he has to do all winter. There will be plenty of going back & forth but more for DH than me.

Well then, after it is fixed up (however much is necessary) you will have TWO houses but only need 1 to live in. Why not rent it out and make some money? I don't know what property taxes are like there but here they are a big expense. Plus you have the expense of utilities. I could see not wanting to rent it out if this was your dream retirement home but we all know it isn't because you told us so :D
