Hey Berts...a real question now, have you ever had to bottle feed one of your goat kids?

The reason I ask, there's a newbie with a 3 week old and they're feeding it with a bottle 3 times a day. Is that enough?

We've always had the mothers to feed the kids, so I don't know. The kids nurse quite a bit, so I'm just wondering if 3 times a day with a bottle is enough.

when the kids have full access to mama, they tend to eat all throughout the day, in smaller portions.

it will take a little time, but you can get by with two times a day. I think campingshaws, on granny's thread is currently bottle feeding her two kid goats.

the few times I've had to bottle feed anything, the key was making it sweet.......all young'uns like sugar......lol......there are tons of good recipes for bottle goat milk on line.....
