63, dry and sunny where we are.......wherever that is!
Not uncommon. That's true!! I'm not even sure it's freezing, think it's like 34 or 36 right night. When DB and FSIL went up to the cabin this past weekend it was 22 and snow on the ground. Is that common this time of year?
they do get it year round if they come to eat, otherwise the wild birds get it, they also get their crumbles twice a dayOh, isn't THAT nice???
I'd go with folklore. Scratch grains shouldn't be more than about 10% of their diet. Too much corn. I feed the same year round. Pellets always available, some BOSS in the morning, some scratch before roost time.
They would like corn in the spring, summer and fall as well. Chicken crack, Halloween candy to children.
He comes! When he is good and ready. He has to think you have a better reason for him to come to you than to keep doing what ever it is he is currently doing.
I'm not sure that passes the smell test. And I'd rather my slate or green legged girls not have yellow legs.
Someone call out the rescue team....if Blooie doesn't know where she is, she is lost!63, dry and sunny where we are.......wherever that is!
I'm not sure how she would know with their schedule!
Not uncommon.
Plus the river is up already! We are hoping it will miss us.Yikes, I'd rather have the rain! Hope it's not that bad Cap, that stuff is nasty for people and really hard on trees.
That was a lot to do!Got a lot done. I mean, not a ton, would have gotten more done if I had started sooner, but still a decent amount. A lot for me. Cleaned behind the coop/run. There was all kinds of random stuff back there. A bunch of tools from the garden ended up laying behind the run, rakes and hoes and shovels and such, plus some plastic shutters I took off the run roof (got discounted at Lowe's a while ago, was using for part of the roof, but they were ugly, bent and annoying, so I had taken them off and never moved them, there was a big sail my mom got somewhere and was using for shade this summer, don't want it. Random plastic shelving thing she got and a bunch of extra shelves and the poles laying aroumd, no desire or use for it, random light/lamp thing that goes outside a door, a random ceramic chicken and bowl, various cheap metal/foil tins sometimes used to give them treats, bunch of random fencing (2 snow fence things, bird/deer netting, and then 2 pretty decent stuff I might use), and a few other random things like a few huge random pieces of wood, giant fallen branches, the egg basket, a random metal trash can I don't want. Basically too much STUFF. Most of it isn't even mine but ended up there via my mother. So most of it is going back to the dump and the rest is now organized and tools moved to the garage except two that I bought for the coop. Forgot to take before and after pictures but trust me, it looks way better lol still have some more work to do like clean out the shed and move the gigantic roll of hardware cloth (and put it up) but that will be done this weekend probably. Walking/training the dogs tomorrow and we also might either get snow or just a ton of rain tomorrow and Friday so it's going to have to wait. Refilled the chickens' food too but brought the water in. It was really low anyway and it's supposed to get down to 22 tonight. Thinking of plugging in the heated water bowl but I have to find the extension cord and get to the window in the garage.
That was a lot to do!
