The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I'm finally getting around to sharing my garden birdy friends:

This is Mama and Mac.

Mac was being especially cute.
Both will eat out of my hand (well, Mac will if his Missus isn't around, otherwise he's a gentleman and lets her eat first).

And my little fantail friend who is looking quite tatty really feather wise.

They are such little cuties. The babies stay hidden away in the trees on the neighbours property but they might get brave soon too. I'm just hoping my moth supply doesn't run out. I was looking at moth traps last night - people make them to trap moths to photograph.

It's great to hear your DH is so much better Sharron.

I too hope Sean is ok. :fl

Thanks for the pictures Jae! I can see why they call the little bird in the tree a "fantail", how pretty.

Must have frozen your tush off when you moved from North Florida to Wyoming!

One of the first things we did was buy me a winter jacket. In FL I got by with an old one DH couldn't wear anymore.

See, and I don’t like the fleece lined ones at all. They feel “pill-y” to me, like when sweaters pill and itch. Frustrates me to no end. :rant
Totally agree!
Yep. Ken says I’m like the princess in the story of the Princess and the Pea....hypersensitive to textures. Plain flannel I just love! Fleece, nope. I can’t wear sweaters. I can’t wear socks with obvious toe seams, but if I have no choice I’ll turn them inside out to wear them and I’ll have them on for as short a time as possible. Tags in necklines aren’t annoying to me - they are downright painful and they are removed immediately, even if it means a small slit in the neckline. I haven’t put on a pair of panti hose since Ma’s funeral in 1991 and the only reason I wore them then was because I wore a dress and Ma would have kicked my hiney from South Dakota to China....and back!! All the dresses I wear for fancy Lodge functions or cruises are long so I can wear short nylons and I can’t get them off fast enough. That silkery/soft knitty stuff that some jammies are made from feel like they are pulling my skin off by the little hairs. And sequins!!! Oh, man, it’s like torture if they touch me anywhere if the lining shifts. Can’t hug Ken if he’s wearing a favorite wool sweater or that doggone wool coat of his. And those spandex type tank tops are he11. I’m probably one of the few human beings who still wears a full slip under dresses! Sheets that pill - ugh! Like sleeping in sand. :he

Maybe I should have Kelsey Google it - I’m scared to. ;)
Are we related? You just described me!
I have very sensitive skin. Can't wear belts, regular socks- need the wide topped diabetes socks. Everything makes deep red marks on my skin. Forget any jewelry, and my neck is especially bad. If I use a finger to make a line or letter on my neck, in a few seconds it will show up in red. The doctor said that's called skin writing? Just another talent I would be glad to loose.
I have that DD. It is a real thing. I take an allergy pill every day so I don’t get hives. I was actually on prednisone for 10 days cuz my hives were so bad. My doctor has it too. There is a name for it but can’t remember it.

And I can sure empathize - I moved from the Gulf Coast of Mississippi - the Pascagoula/Biloxi area - to Eastern South Dakota. In November. Yeah. Debby has guts! But I did warm her to bring flannel jammies, long johns, and flannel lined jeans!

Yes, you warned me!

What I didn't know is that there is NO place in town to buy flannel pajamas for women (they sell men's but not women's...why?). Had to order the pj's. I have long johns but can't wear them because then I get too warm. Flannel lined jeans? Not happening, they'd be ok outside but I'd roast in the house!

Hi Debby! My sister in town is having Christmas. It’ll be just us and her hubby, her boys and her mother in law. Last big one we did hubby said was the last one. Too many kids under age 6 and no one watching them. I’m ok with simple.

Simple is good!

It will be just the two of us at home this year and that's A-ok!
