Not from his generosity but from his temper, yes!
Gave me a rubber mallet and anvil one Christmas, because that was 1 toy I couldn't tear up....so, I walked across the hardwood floors with it in my arms (anvil weighed more than me)....I dropped it, it put a hole in the floor....my dad got a huge laugh outta that one. He never gave me anything like that ever again.
