I finally tried the Cheddar Bay Biscuits. :drool Scrummy! DH bit into one and said "Oh wow"! Which is very high praise from him. I will have to play around with the temperature though as it was too hot in my oven. 450F converts to 230C so I might try 210C next time and see how that goes as I had to whip them out after 19mins. I only managed to make 18 and I had to melt more butter because I must've overdone it the first time around. Definitely worth all the trouble though.

That's pretty much all we ate yesterday as it was so hot.

@KDOGG331 just thought you'd be interested in this breed of dog if you haven't read about it before. It's an ancient breed with 6 toes, it can close off it's ear canals, spread its front legs right out sideways until they are at 90 degrees to their body, and put their head back far enough for the top to touch their back. It's the Norwegian Lundehund. That's one truly unique little dog and it almost became extinct. They are cute looking little things too.

Thanks for the endorsement on the biscuits! I printed the recipe off but haven't had a chance to make them yet.

Wow that sure is a unique little dog!! And you are right, they are so cute!!! Wonder if anyone breeds them here in the US :lau probably not as they seem like a pretty rare breed but gosh are they cute!!

They are well worth it. How did your cookie decorating go? I like using the fondant icing to ice biscuits. Super easy - I can't quite get the knack for piping icing nicely, though I'm sure more practice would help. I'd like to try painting on fondant icing. You just colour a bit of vodka and go to town. The kids would love that. One of these days we'll try it out (when we can afford a luxury like vodka).

There are some breeders in the US but they are still a very rare breed. They can have digestive issues (the population got down to 5 dogs, and 4 were related so it's not surprising they'd have some issue, but they are taking steps to improve the breed) and they are apparently a challenge to house train but they look like really playful dogs. And cute to boot. Just to add another breed to your list. :D

Done with the cookies. I only had enough powdered sugar to make 3 colors so everything is pink, white and purple :D This is definitely going to take more practice but I'm ok with my 1st attempt. And bonus, they taste really good!

Jae, I've never tried fondant...do you like the taste of it? Piping bags are hard for me to handle, so I just used little squeeze bottles and that wasn't so hard.
