The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I have to get my tall step ladder out to replace the bulbs in my ceiling fan, in the 22' ceiling room.

No, don't do it.

I apologize again for dragging you into that mess yesterday. I would guess that OP is not long for BYC.

Oh, I want to guess...did it involve the person we talked about the other day?

I had to replace my unit 12 years ago.The cost was $5,000 TTL. The old heat pump had been in the house since it was built in 1978. I bought this house in 1983.
They had to increase the size of the intake duct due to the unit's intake was bigger but that really improved the efficiency of the unit and was an easy remodel. I could feel an immediate change between the old and the new (same size unit as the old) and how the unit didn't cycle on and off near as much as the old unit, due to the fact it didn't have anywhere near the restriction of the return air flow as the old unit. And other than having to replace the start/run capacitor twice, have had no other repairs done.
Here with the hot temps we get, the start/run capacitors typically will only last 3 to 4 years before they just can't take the extreme temperature. I've been pretty lucky with not having to replace them more often...and I replaced them myself so it only cost me around $40
Thanks for the information!

It will be fun to see what the quotes and recommendations will be here

As I said yesterday, no worries. Yeah, that whole post has been removed. If I would have said what I really wanted too, I would have been banned for life....and I wouldn't have used bad language either. He was just an internet troll.

Nope another pair as a matter of fact. There seems to be an influx of close minded, abrasive, know-it-alls recently. Thread has been deleted.

What kind of dog do you have Deb (beside the decorating kind)?

Nice of son to do the clean up.
Its his dog hes never complained even when I had to wake him up at times....

Shes a Swiss Mountain Dog cross. Very very sweet. He adopted her from the pound. She came with a Dossier of her medical history, an inch thick. Apparently she was attacked by a German Shepherd and ripped up Terribly. Helen Woodward took on her care they didn't expect her to live.

According to her history she was raised up around livestock Chickens Goats... etc. Then the terrible attack... After she healed up she was adopted by a family with a baby... Three months went by....The baby became a toddler and they turned her back in... I can only speculate what went on through all of this.

She was at the pound for another couple of months before my son found her. Brandy Was Whale eyed for a long time... Wouldn't go outside during the day... We had to encourage her to go out. I think she was waiting for the other shoe to drop...

I never yell or scold her... I dont praise for bad behavior.... but find ways to encourage good behavior... Doggie door worked famously even though we had to teach her how to use it... only took about three days ... a week with confidence.

His final post I just lost it....was way fed up with his know it all attitude...asking for answers but didn't want to hear what we were telling him was the way it really was...and contradicting his self at every turn...actually pretty funny, looking back on it. :D I chalked it up to "You can't fix stupid".

Poor girl, sounds like she's been through some rough times.
