The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

He's really cute! We just got a new addition too. Looks like yours will get big. Love the larger dogs, just can't do the larger breed now. Here is our new boy Luke. Our other guy is a mini Shcnauzer. They are buds now. Love your other dog...German Shepherd? View attachment 1697031

All of the electric is going to be completed on Thursday, as well as the water pump finally going in! I've been working on stripping the kitchen cabinets. Trying to take off 80+ years of paint is not fun. The bottom few layers is like a really sticky gummy wood filler. Using the heat gun helps, but it still just spreads instead of coming off.

Can you sand it instead of heating it?

Is the filler in the upper layers of paint? If it is in the wood, you'll just have to refill anyway, might as well leave it and just sand smooth. Looks like you are making good progress on them. Deck looks great, I bet you'll really enjoy it come spring.
It's actually paint that is about the consistency of filler. I'm just getting the bulk of the paint off, then sanding. There are so many layers of paint it's over 1/8 of an inch thick.

Looking more and more like home! I like all the shelving in the kitchen.
