The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

morning debby:frow
hoping mine get back from the cpa before we leave here and go to pa, would hate to be late filing:eek:

My guy does the paperwork then all I have to do is go over it with him, sign things and he sends them in. Never been late in the 3 years I've been using him and well worth the little bit of cost.

I hope that today went a lot better for you DMC. :hugs

Me too. First day sounded pretty rough!

The new homes are looking great, you guys! Debby, he's made real progress! Wish I had nice shiny, stainless steel appliances in my kitchen! Oh, wait...I only have half a kitchen. Still. But if I did have a whole kitchen.....

Few would understand the joy of a fresh glass of water, but we get it here! Been with you every step of the way since you found the place, videos of it on the move, being set, and the first grand tour! Way to persevere, FD!

Kelsey, you DON'T want to attract wild turkeys! Enjoy them where they are, discourage them from getting to close or friendly! They can make one heck of a mess, and it doesn't take them too long to decide they are in charge. Besides, in some places it is illegal to harass or feed wild animals, and turkeys are included in that.

Papa Cockatiel looks very proud. They are getting so big!

I dunno what else I was going to comment on. I was multiquoting like mad as I went through the posts, and you see how few survivors there were when I got ready to comment! So if I've omitted you, I'm sorry - I did read though, and will catch back up.

Life is good. Fiona is back home again - at least until next weekend. We met with the Holiday Inn on Monday and finalized our Grand Lodge logistics. I suddenly realized that I'm planning a party for over 200 guests and dignitaries.....so I guess beenie-weenies on paper plates is out!

Good morning all and thank you! Yesterday was better. There is only 2 classes I am comfortable in. Life Skills and Art. 1st class they were decorating cupcakes, today they do pizza crust. This teacher was my old Home Economics teacher. Art class is out of control but the teacher is nice. I know I would do great with the elementary kids. I can understand their work. Throw atoms and molecules at me and I freak. Ugh! Have a good day!
What exactly is it you're doing DMC?

Blooie, those are excellent points. Thanks. So I guess I will refrain from attracting them intentionally and just enjoy them if/when they come back. I am sure they will; we are in kind of prime turkey habitat. But I will refrain from feeding them and definitely refrain from befriending them again. I hope I didn’t cause them any harm by doing that. Although we are in a pretty suburban area already so I think they are already used to people but I still think befriending them was probably too far. Although I have not done it since and that was two years ago and only for like a week or two then they disappeared so maybe they were okay. But I don’t want them getting too comfortable anyway because I just remembered last time they were all over the chicken coop, kept hanging out on the roof and run, and this time they were on the deck, and I just really don’t want them doing that again. I forgot how annoying they can be because they are fun to watch. But I definitely don’t want them getting too comfortable or harassing the chickens or me. Granted, last time there were wayyyyy more of them than there were this time so the smaller number is probably less obnoxious but still. Last time they were always hanging out on the fence along the driveway in the front (corral type fence, since taken down), on top of the chicken coop, the deck, etc. i don’t mind a little mess, our yard isn’t exactly anywhere near perfect anyway and is huge so mess is distributed, but I don’t want them getting overly comfortable like that again. They weren’t vicious or anything and like I said, I even befriended them, and at the time thought it was funny/cool how they just hung out all over like that, but now I realize it’s kind of obnoxious. My birds are all vaccinated for Merricks though so that’s not an issue but they should probably find their own food anyway. There is plenty of it in this area.
