The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Was at a rodeo once where they had a greased pig race for the kids who wanted to participate. It was hilarious.
I bet...I like to watch 'Mutton Bust'n' cracks me up how some of those toddlers take it sooo seriously!

Good morning everyone, getting a late start here...

Sharron, just in case you can't check in tomorrow, have a safe trip and we'll be here waiting for your return. Atlanta traffic stinks, glad your DH is a good driver.

Got word from DH last night that his boss asked him to hire a friend of his for the pro shop & restaurant. I hate this kind of b.s. Hoping it will work out ok.
Not good!
Hey, if anyone can handle it, you can. Your people skills are through the roof, and you're one smart cookie.
I second that!!

In PR they make extra lines by driving in between the lanes or in the ditch. A two lane highway is made into a 4 or 5 lane at rush hour! :lau 2 days later, I was driving the same way, :gig was a shock the first time I ever had to deal with that sorta insanity. :D

Oh wow!!! That’s crazy! But hilarious! :lau here they open the breakdown lane for travel during rush hour.

Hey Cappy, what's on your agenda today?
Today i planted peas in 2 of the raised beds, my favorite veggies. I also put wires across the top of the fence, attached to 8 foot long pieces of wood. I am NOT going to have deer in my garden this year!
And i repaired the shutter on my #2 chicken coop, that had been blown right off in a wind storm.
Also slept in late and did some quilting.

yes, lost alot of blood thru the years but the greys are the ones who always suckered me into getting too close and then nailing me real good, amazons never bit but once, one i was handfeeding, decided he wanted to be boss, bit me but didn't break the skin, he never bit again tho
I had a pet monkey. She never bit me except the one time i grabbed her in the set of a TV show.

Got a little carried away with the snacks earlier.... also with the “healthy” snack thing... :lau :hide

I thought I explained why I was wrangling pheasants. No, you never told me about the pig rodeo...they are harder to catch than pheasants. :D
You explained, but i was commenting as i caught up, so i saw it later.
Pig Rodeo, i really wish we had a video of it! When we lived in TN i talked hubby into getting pigs to help seal the pond. We were planning to eat them when they got big enough, but i found a guy that wanted to buy them as breeding sows. It was time for them to go.
I built a ramp, and was going to put cleats on it so the pigs could get better footing going up the ramp into the back of the pick up truck. Hubby said we didn't need to do that. So, i opened the pasture where the pigs were, and rattled the bucket of feed. The pigs followed me to the truck, i poured feed up the ramp and into the truck. The pigs actually tried to get in, but could not get traction, so we had to try to push each one up the ramp. It was not popular. :barnie At one point there were two pigs in there, but they jumped out while we were trying to get the other one in. :rant
At this point, our neighbors showed up. The pigs were having too much fun and getting into the garden so we guided them back into the pasture. We all got in there and tried to catch them. :lau Hubby's tactic was to chase them around the pond and try to get them in the pig pen. Didn't happen. I decided to try and rope the pigs.:gig
I did manage to get the rope around one pigs' leg, but it was slipping and the pig was dragging me along the ground. i refused to let go. I got ahold on that pig's leg and managed to maneuver on top of the pig's back!
Meanwhile, hubby and the neighbors were still chasing the other two pigs, trying to get them into the pig pen. :lau I really expected the pig to squeal , buck, run around and dump me off. But it never happened! As soon as i climbed on that pig, it stopped in its tracks and just stood there!!!:celebrate
Hubby stopped chasing pigs and got the Mule. We attempted to tie the pig up, but it really didn't work well. Wrestled it into the front seat floor of the Mule, with much pushing and cursing. i held it and hubby drove. The :hugsThen it took three of us to pick up the pig and put it in the back of the truck.
