The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Done with work for today. Boy, this all seems a lot harder this year than last. Maybe it's that one year older thing. Did feel pretty good though that the gal that's working with me is 10 years younger and didn't do any better than me (is that bad of me?).

Sharron, Cynthia....that's a tough spot you're both in. For right now, my mom is able to care for my handicapped nephew in her home but some day my brother & I will be in a similar situation with him.

We're looking at rain turning into snow overnight. Might get from 3" to 6" snow before it's done. Hey, on the bright side...might not have to work tomorrow!
You’re earning that raise Debby:D
We are in the 12-20” range for snow on Thursday :he The yard is finally getting decent.

i sure will, but i cook alot of keto , no sugar, flour or potatoes or anything that has a lot of carbs, check everything i buy for the amount of sugar and carbs, when i want sweets i cook things keto, after awhile regular sugar taste too sweet and not good to me, i make bread from almond flour or coconut flour mixed together sometimes. my downfall is diet mt.dew or dr.pepper, i also drink unsweetened tea and coffee, trying thats all i can say.
Yeah, I need more veggies and less carbs. Gotta lose a couple of my guilty pleasure's and leave the wine alone. I dont eat or drink a lot of sugar, but potato chips rock my world.

its something we have to do, unless we're totally heartless, and thank goodness i haven't got that far yet
we're all getting to the age that it takes us longer to do anything and then we're sore and stiff for a couple of days but then we get used to it and its not quite as bad
 so sorry for you on the snow deal, at least:fl its not cold here yet altho they say the weekend will be only 50 highs, 38 ? night, not as good as defuniak but at least i can live with it

sharron :hugssorry you have so much on your plate to deal with. Maybe "smaller" plates would be better.
My father had dementia and did some really dangerous things but,the worse he got the quieter and more gentle he was. Before he went into a nursing home, he forgot who I was but, was very sweet to me. He had hated me most of his life. He thought my brother was HIS brother and my son as well. He didn't remember mom or being married. She had died several years before him so at least it didn't hurt her feelings.

He was a handful in the nursing home- visiting other patient's rooms and taking anything that caught his eye. When the patients were given a cookie, he had mega tantrums
because he wanted more.

He fell a lot so he ended up in a wheelchair, no help there. He was not supposed to try and get up without a nurse. You can imagine how well that went over. Then he had many more seizures than he did when he was home. I could go on and on but, the phone was always ringing to announce he fell again or was in the hospital with pneumonia
again.

At least twice the calls were to say he was very ill and should get last rites, etc. Then he would miraculously be well, or repeat the saga. It didn't stop until IT Stopped. Was quite a shock to us because we thought he would bounce back again. He was 90.

It took me a full year till I felt safe undoing some very dangerous wiring, etc. he had done at home. GOt rid of all his chemical things that he would dabble with. His bedroom has been kept the same. I can say I had nightmares for a long time about his coming "back" to kill me. But, "we don't need to go there ".
