I’ve got Katie, Tam and Jenny on another task for me - they are filling 200 regular welcome bags and 20 dignitaries’ welcome bags. The centerpieces I’d rather do myself. It’s the control freak in me - the shoes have to be centered just right in the center of the flower and glued to the right 2 petals or they wobble.
There are no late registrations accepted for our Grand Lodge. They have until August 1 so we can get the accurate meal counts to the hotel. No meal tickets at the door, either, at least not for ours. A couple of years ago the Grand Master and his wife ended up paying for 12 meals out-of-pocket when folks showed up expecting to eat even though they hadn’t registered, and 2 couples still ended up coming late and having to find dinners on their own because of the unexpected extras who were seated. That’s happened before, too. So we made it clear right on the registration form, “No advanced ticket = no meal. No exceptions”. It doesn’t get clearer than that. We got another 25 registrations in today, so they are starting to pick up a bit.
