morning sourA belated good morning, everyone.
have a good dayMorning Sour, hope you have a good day!
I'll see you all later, time to get ready for work![]()
Not in the past day or soHave I mentioned that I’m getting tired? Just wondering.
I bet some people decide yo pay a visit to your small town for this event! Really nice to have the fireworks close, but not too close and no trees in the way. Nice finale, I bet the rest of the show was great as well.We never see so many cars in Cowley.
So, it is fair to say that you had a good time? Son's GF's family is nice?Yesterday went well at son’s girlfriends lake place I expected to go for a couple hours and we left at 10:00 P.M.
Morning all!
Nothing like starting the day in panic mode. Got a call last night from the Grand Master of Arizona’s lady. They’d sent in their registration early but hadn’t reserved their room at the hotel yet. So she tried yesterday and there are no more rooms....we had a special room rate block of 80 rooms and they’re all gone! So this morning Ken called the Holiday Inn to see if we could add to our rate block and the lady we have to talk to is gone until Monday. Meantime I’m getting even more calls (5 more today so far) and having to have people reserve at Candlewood Inns and Suites which is right next door, but they have to pay full price there. The Holiday has 200 rooms total so I’m sure some groveling will be involved to release a few more, IF they’ll let me. Problem is I don’t know how many haven’t reserved rooms yet. Most people send in their registrations to the Grand Secretary but don’t call the hotel and reserve their rooms at the same time. We always do both at once, and we do it as soon as the registrations become available, so I have never had to stay in an “overflow” hotel. Just don’t know what to tell people. Looks like a trip over the mountain to Sheridan on Monday. <sigh> Groveling in person is usually more successful than groveling over the phone.
Another thing checked off the list....the 3 cases of Sparkling Apple/Pear cider arrived this morning. Two bottles of each will go into the welcome bags for our out-of-state visiting dignitaries, along with assorted snacks, visitor information from the Chamber of Commerce, and a special gift for each lady. (Don’t ask me what those will be yet - I have no clue). Regular guest bags just get bottled water and snacks. Hope we got enough of that, too. The way this is shaping up, we’ll have a much bigger turnout than the last 3 Wyoming Grand Lodges we’ve been to. But people really like Sheridan - they like the way everything is laid out, the hotel, and the area in general. In just 30 minutes they can be up on top of the Big Horns exploring, or go on to Yellowstone for a few days after GL. Crowds are thinner because tourists have pretty much headed for home to get kids ready for school to start. And of course, they really like Ken and want to be there to congratulate him on his very successful year. He’s a member of 3 Lodges here in the Basin so his brothers want to be there for his last bash too. I think I’m going to have to make a few more centerpieces. <groan>
Okay, gotta get dressed and get my bed made. Looks like a trip to Billings today. Gotta hit Costco and Hobby Lobby. Can’t go tomorrow - I have the girls all day. Wednesday we leave for Cheyenne. Have I mentioned that I’m getting tired? Just wondering.
