Stopped by the Holiday Inn while we were coming home to check on how many rooms we had sold. They looked in the computer and informed us that the event had been cancelled!!? No matter how she tried to enter it, it comes up “event cancelled!” The entire event!!!

I’m so pissed right now. We have to have it there - too short notice to change it. And I’ll bet the event planner has it right, but she isn’t communicating with the front desk, and that desk is where folks have to call to make reservations. I had people tell me they had to book at the Mill Inn or Candlewood because the Holiday told them there were no rooms available.

So we have to go over the mountain to Sheridan tomorrow and find out what the he11 is going on and get it FIXED! Our entire Grand Lodge - cancelled??? I thought my biggest worries were gift bags, table decorations and making sure the ladies’ events were covered. Now I’m so stressed I can’t see straight.

Me too, but registrations are closed as of the 25th so not much time.

On a lighter note, I made the mistake of suggesting to a Ken that he might consider a nautical theme for our head table, since everything from his Grand Lodge Officers’ ties to his new GM apron has anchors on it. He was installed to the musician playing Anchors Away last year. I was thinking something Navy related. Then I made the mistake of turning him loose in Hobby Lobby while I had lunch with some of the ladies. Um, help? I have to black out the skull and crossbones on the black hat and replace it with the Masonic Square and Compass. Oh, and make a teeny little Grand Master’s apron. Then I have to tie all of these gee-gaws into one cohesive centerpiece.

Hey, wait!!! No I don’t! Grand Lodge is cancelled!!! I’m FREE!!!! (Either that or I have another year.... GASP)
