The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Good morning from beautiful downtown Cowley! Of course we’d be exhausted and get home on Cowley Days weekend, when darn near everyone who grew up here or has friends and family here comes to town for the parades, the town-wide barbecue, the talent show, the ice cream social, the class reunions, the dance in the pavilion, and oh, did I mention the FIREWORKS all night long and the cannon going off at 5:00 am? Yeah. Welcome home. <sigh>

But here’s your grin for the day. Kendra has been terrified of birds for a long time....we don’t know why, and she’s fine if they are far away, but if they fly past her more closely she flaps her arms, ducks and starts crying. Chickens, as we know, don’t bother her a bit but a robin flying past the deck if she’s out there scares the pee-wadding out of her. Well, this photo was taken by one of her cabin counselors up at Charles Campbell Children’s Camp on Thursday. They had made ice cream and no stoopid Blue Jay was gonna get hers!!! Not one tear, arm flap, or sign of panic - just suspicion.

And here’s Fiona playing with her best friend JoJo at the boarding kennel. JoJo belongs to one of the employees and goes to work with her most of the time, so these two characters have been together since Fiona started going there. JoJo is a Great Dane...with BIG teeth! They used to be pretty close in size but JoJo has stopped growing and Fee has not. The kennel sent me this while we were gone. I think it’s hilarious!

There. Your grins for the day!

I think Cowley was welcoming you home B!

Great picture of Kendra and the jay...good girl, protect that ice cream :D

Love the photo of Fee and JoJo!

We're at 72* now...temperature is creeping up, best go mess with the chickens now before it gets bad (at least bad by my standards).

BBL!
Yeah, the term 'bad' is relative to ones location! :lau my neighbors well went out on him yesterday, came over to borrow some water from me....so we ran a 1/4 mile of flexible water pipe from my well to his house. :D of course it was 100°F and the heat index 108°F.:barnie

Awesome pictures Blooie!

my oh my how warm it is to be moving around outside:eek:

It will be better tomorrow - only mid 80's.

Hi Sour! Are you going to be able to stay out of the heat today?

Trained early, went to a friend's house to bring home two of my dogs that he bred for me, and now I am in for the duration. We may go to see a matinee performance of a play, but the Princess is unsure about the AC in this particular theater.
