The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

hi debby
not much outside that for dang sure husband is now up and hes starting the fire in the little wood stove on the porch(connected to the living room) soon will be warm and toasty in here, i could have started a fire but i wasn't that cold ( i grew up with only a fireplace for heat in florida so i learned how to start a fire at a early age) course we had lighter knots, we would split some for kindling and when those started, then add a big one, along with a green oak log. roast one side, turn to roast the other side, then run like heck to the bed and jump in at night :lau

I like a wood fire, been a long time since I had a fireplace to have one in.

Enjoy your heat Sharron :D

Morning Sharron,....yeah! :gigcompared to yesterday! :lau
its colder here this morning 28* than yesterday and going to be even colder this coming week, and its still at least 3 weeks before we can head south, at least if nothing happens, i still have chickens to sell before we go and husband has decided to try to find another home for the potbelly, if he can't, he goes with us nd believe me, hes no wilbur but guess i could fall in love with him but don't want to oh well sometimes life has a way of sneaking up on you:hmm

Do you have to spend much time outside when you're working? If you do, you better button up your overcoat or you're going to freeze!
Yep, most of the night....insulated coveralls, goose down jacket, gloves, insulated boots when temps are this low.

this little heater is a magic morning, they don't make them anymore, haven't for years and i saw a ad that someone was selling it and knew husband wanted one(remember plbg & htg contractor) so send husband and helper to look and see what condition it was in, gave him money just in case it was nice and it was so he brought it home, hooked it up on the front closed in porch, keeps thing warm in here before the oil furnace kicks on, husband hates the cold now more than i do and thats saying alot . we have the magic morning up here and a rice coal burner and oil furnace in the basement for the back rooms, as long as we can get rice coal, oil and wood we won't be cold inside:lau
