morning cap:frow
have no idea what husband will want to do today, pretty nippy so i do know he won't won't want to play around outside, just going to wing it
and what do you have planned?

so wish i could do some gardening but my gardening is over for a few months

I'm in your shoes all summer, because of heat instead of cold though :hugsI've just got a few cool season things going and there's a donor cherry tomato, those were pretty good in summer.

We've got close to 30 years together and he's 11 years my senior. A newer model couldn't handle me so I'm stuck with what I got :idunno

Finally! What kind of chickens are you hatching?

I know right!? About time :lau

It’s an assortment from Meyer Hatchery so could be anything!

But thankfully they stamp the eggs with a breed code and include a handy dandy little chart with the codes and breed names so you can figure out what breeds you have!

I got a great variety! 8 different breeds in only 13 eggs! :D

And they included an extra egg! :D

So far I know for sure that I have 2 Black Australorp, 2 Welsummer, 2 Rhode Island Red, a Barred Rock, a Buff Orpington, a Lavender Orpington, a Blue Andalusian, and an Easter Egger.

Some of the eggs were pretty smudged and I couldn’t really make them out.

One of the RIRs was pretty smudged too but the letters were still mostly readable/distinguishable so I was able to figure out I had a second RIR.

The other two, I’m really not sure.

One of them only one letter is smudged so I was able to figure out that I had a third Orpington but not what type as the key letter distinguishing them is not readable haha

I think it might be another Lav though as it kind of looks like the other Lav egg.

The other egg is most likely another Blue Andalusian but it could also be a Light Brown Leghorn or a Black Sumatra. It’s a white egg and after looking it up, those are the only 3 white egg layers on the list. But the others are more rare I think so it’s probably another Blue Andalusian which is fine with me. It’s a different shape though but that could just be different hens.

ANYWAY.

Sorry for rambling.

I got a great variety and I’m super excited haha

Hi, sharron, guess that 'winter' has arrived for us.
