Oh, I missed this somehow. When did you get babies???? Is that a Lavender in front???

I ordered hatching eggs a few weeks ago so they’ve been hatching all weekend. One was a bit of an overachiever and hatched Thursday LOL most of the others hatched Friday and I had one more hatch last night. I think they’re all done now.

9 total.

And yes it is! It’s is a Lavender Orpington!

Thank you!!! I still can’t believe so many have hatched!! I really thought I killed them all except maybe two

It’s my first ever hatch.

I ordered an assortment of hatching eggs from Meyer Hatchery.

Ordered 12, got 13. Of those 13, all were fertile and started developing but I had 3 early quitters. So 10 made it to lockdown and so far 9 have hatched. One still has made no progress or internal pip or anything and I really think it’s dead but still not sure so leaving it for a few more days. But even if only 9 make it, I still think that’s pretty great for shipped eggs and for my first ever hatch.

I’m super excited.

And yes!! It brings it to 20 birds LOL

But I don’t know that I will keep them all yet. I will probably keep all females and maybe a rooster or two and try to rehome the others or I may keep all till spring or something.
