Today is Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day and I was just reading a story about the last 3 remaining survivors of the USS Arizona. Here's a link if anyone else wants to take a look:

I've never been to HI but has anyone here been to see the memorial in Oahu?

Isn't the Arizona the one that still releases a bubble of oil periodically?

We were there about 30 years ago, and if I recall correctly there was a slight oil slick from several of the ships.

SHARRON you aren't stupid or dumb. Forget about jobs. Sounds so sterile and boring.
I bet the things(anything) you really love or enjoy, you excel at. My son said I was to dumb to understand about computers. Yah I am but, I manage to do a lot on BYC using one. I am able to do what I need to do.

Can't put up photos, can't cut and paste, or copy and paste whatever the deal it is - too bad. I can converse with folks around the globe and they understand me. I always tell my son "well you can't trim and condition a show dog." He just smirks. He makes more in a hour than I made in a week.

I don't want furs, diamonds,trips to exotic places around the world. The funds to buy anything I want - when I want it, is pointless to me. I don't care for things that come easy. I like the struggle. I like the sacrifice. Makes the victory, much sweeter!

ITs called Jumping the Chain. and allows the team to turn corners.... The two right up against the wagon are the team that actually steers or turns the wagon wheels.

Part of what is in the Amazon packages DH is driving around with includes my sweater cookie cutter. Since I'm not a good cookie decorator, I decided to make ugly sweater cookies

Yep, I didn't/do know any survivors of Pearl Harbor but knew a survivor of the first wave to hit Omaha Beach.

I can't even imagine the PTSD that people who go into battle must suffer. My step-father was in the 101st Airborne, and I believe was at the Battle of the Bulge. Must have gone in a Private since he had to get permission from his grandmother to join underage. Came out a Sargent. Never talked about it much but I know he was proud of his service. Imagine where we would all be today if not for the men and women who fought that war.

I had an uncle who was on one of the ships in pearl, I don't think it was the Arizona but it was one of 8 ships he was on during the war that got sunk. I told him the one thing I would never do with him was take a boat ride.

I don't know, the man seems to have survived 8 sinkings, he must be a good luck charm.

mil did say one time that i was trainable and she taught me to run our business but i could never get my brain around what deb ,rj or sean do for a living.

There are plenty of brilliant people who don't do that sort of work. We'd be in a he!! of a mess if everyone was good at that work and no one could do anything else.

I don't have that problem...I am the upper management! if I need a day off all I have to do is ask the boss! but of course that effects my paycheck!

Who covers the shift if the boss lets you take a day (night) off??

i know, really. that i'm not stupid, just dumb in some things, technical, i am stupid but smart enough to hire someone to fix it for me instead of trying it myself

See, a SMART person recognizes their strengths and weaknesses and gets help where needed. Done, you aren't stupid after all
