The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

What's on your agenda today Sue, since you have an unplanned day off?
Well, let's see I have been doing lesson plans for work and getting stuff ready for the coming weeks so I don't have to do it later. I know I'm off so why am I doing stuff for work :idunno it makes my life easier later and if I don't keep busy I'll go stir crazy as someone likes to tell me :D I just can't sit and relax for long-even after I get home from work :( Yesterday I went walking around the property after I got home and took some pictures-I am always taking pictures and Bob posts them sometimes. I mostly post them on our Facebook farm page, since I'm in charge of it.
i will be cleaning the bugs up that never seem to stop-does anyone else have the issue with ladybugs and stink bugs in the house :barnieI'm so tired of vacuuming them up!!! And they are both here right now. I do not go back until next Wed-so I have a lot of time to do stuff, or I could just try to play catch up on my reading ;) and bake some goodies :drool

:wee I got my first egg yesterday! And it wasn't frozen!
Built a couple of nest boxes for all of the pullets I got stuck with last fall. Just in time I think. The goats think that they're a great place to climb and butt. Hopefully they'll star erect.
That's great :celebrateI can't wait to get our first egg again-wish they would hurry up and start laying again.

I cringe every time I have to buy eggs. Soon I'll be complaining about too many. Right now I've got about 75 hens & pullets. :th fingers crossed that I'll sell a lot soon! POL birds are in big demand around here in the spring.

I won't buy them-I make someone else do the dirty work

Ooo goodies...
I've been wanting to bake, but for some unknown reason I just can't get motivated enough to actually do it.

Walking around sounds like a great way to spend the day. I tried that the other day, but with snow up to my knees it was tough going. I've had snowshoes on my Christmas list for years now, but never get them .

Ugh on the bugs. Ladybugs were a big problem when I lived in Ohio. Their bites surprisingly hurt!

I love to bake and it shows :hmm I used to bake and decorate cakes for promotions in the Air Force and did all my kids cakes. If I had the time I would do it again, but my hands shake and my vision stinks.

Walking is my idea of relaxing outside-I could walk for miles. In Virginia the winters could be ugly and I don't miss them and growing up in the Midwest was no fun either. You know the saying " I had to walk a mile to school in the snow" yep, my foster family didn't take me to school-it was walk or else.

I have not been bit by the ladybugs, but others have and they say it hurts :(

Me too. I remember my mom sending my sister & me to school in a blizzard. We couldn't even see our hands in front of our faces. What was normally a 10 minute walk took about an hour & a half, but we made it!

Oh my gosh, I so remember those days 🥶 and what was worse-when my mom was still alive-we had to catch the bus down the road from the house and I remember one time that we missed it and got locked out of the house and my brother was starting to get frostbit hands before a neighbor let us in. Mom wasn't home so it was just one of those things that happen :( Walked through many blizzards in my time and I'm sure you have as well.
