The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

You have bettas? :loveI love those fish.:love I used to breed them ages ago when I had time. Once our daughter gave up on day sleeps (at 16 months old!) I just couldn't look after them properly. I miss my fish. DH loves fish too (that's how we met) but he likes big fish and I like little ones. He wants some Oscar cichlids and seeing as I have an aviary full of pretty birds, I think I'd better let him choose the fish.

I've got quail eggs in my incubator. Despite the fact that our birds are at least 2 years old fertility seems to be great. I didn't even collect the eggs 'properly'. I gathered all of the eggs I could find in the aviary, threw them in some water to see which ones were no longer any good, set what sank after checking for cracks, and so far so good. I thought I'd better set some before they stop laying for the season. Our chickens are already molting.

Yes! I have two of them! A dragon scale and a red veil tail. :love I’ve had several others before too love them!!

And oh wow that’s early to quit naps, no!? :lau :hugs

That would be neat if you could get fish again! Even if they’re not your favorite kind. Still neat. I would love to get a tropical tank. I love platies and those types of fish. One day.

And nice!! What kind of quail?

Japanese/Coturnix quails. Can't wait to have some of those cuddly cuties around again.

Your fish sound gorgeous! We don't get great quality fish down here, being such a small country, but I had some lovely ones.

Yes, that's very early for a child to give up on day sleeps. At 9 and a half months she was down to one sleep a day, which is ridiculous, then by 14 months old she could skip a day sleep and still be fine, and by 16 months old day sleeps were no more. She was an absolute angel to take anywhere though (unlike our son who, if you blinked he would disappear) and never had the 'terrible twos' so she wasn't all bad.

I was wondering if they were coturnix but didn’t want to assume as I know there’s many different types of quail haha

And thank you!! I think they are but I’m biased too :lau I’ll have to get some pictures of them!!

And oh wow!! Smart girl, had too much to do to waste time napping! :lau

that’s good she was so good though :love
