The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

It's so hard to watch the downhill process. I called my Mom yesterday. It was a good day for her. Some days she just asks the same thing over and over.
I've heard some say it's like hearing a broken record..over and over. I'm beginning to understand that. He is repeating things.. questions..a lot. Glad you had a good day.. I know you cherish them. 💜

Yes, I do. My Aunt got so she pretty much quit talking in the last year . While she stayed with us, she never stopped talking unless she was asleep. She was one of my favorite relatives. Smart and sweet. She suffered for 11 years.

My poor husband. If it isn't one thing it's another. Dr. had him come in for his yearly physical. We didn't need to be told that he's declining. It's sure hard to carry on a conversation with him, but I can figure it out most of the time. While there at the docs I reminded him that his last Dr was watching his scrotum. ..that sounded funny...😁. Anyway, he did have the blood test last year..that's nice they check that way now days. Blood test again. It's doubled in size. 😔. Going in for an ultra sound this morning. If, he needs it removed, I need to ask if a block can be done instead of him going under anesthesia. I've learned that can bring a dramatic decline on in Alzheimer patients. Now, I haven't let my my mind go to the big C word too seriously. Of course it's come to mind, but where it's been enlarged for years, I'm thinking it's just that, and will probably need to be removed. I'm going to post this in a few places, because I know a lot of folks will offer up a prayer or two for us. I sure love you guys. 💜.
You are definitely in my prayers Cynthia, I hope everything is ok!

I harvested carrots today. This is 5+ quarts in a 4 quart bowl and I still have about a third of the patch left to go.

Hi Cynthia, sorry to hear about your husband's further decline and health problem. You'll be in my prayers...thanks for giving everyone a chance to do that. :hugs

I hope things settle out and everything goes well with your mom’s surgery. In our family it’s youngest sibling Bev who likes to get a bit annoying. She’s kind of the ‘oh-my-God-the-sky-is-falling-and-we’r-all-gonna-diiiiieeeee’ member of the family. But when Linda was on the transplant list, Bev immediately got tested and she was a match, but she was too overweight. She immediately went on a medically supervised diet and lost way over 100 pounds. The doctors ended up taking Linda off the list, and then she died, but Bev kept at it. Then last summer she had surgery to remove the excess skin. So gotta give credit where it’s due.

Good for your sister Bev, that's a huge accomplishment!
