The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

BTW I used to have a zillion(give or take) winter hardy cactus growing along the LONG side of the house. Beautiful blooms etc., but one day I found a small dead bird impaled on a long spine. That was it!. I tore every plant out and dumped them in a pile at the back of the yard.
The thorns on some cacti are very dangerous!

They are -- fortunately for me most of the Opuntias I had - just had spine hairs - lighter than air and yet if they landed on skin, they could borrow their way through to the other side. Very irritating but not deadly.
My oldest DD got into my MILs cactus plants and grabbed one with both hands. It took three of us an hour to get them all pulled out! She was about 3 at the time

Hopefully, being with bigger kids will help the situation. There may be a child that will put him in his place, I don't like to say that but I've seen it happen many times. I had a child last year that thought it was funny to just run up to another child and basically run them over. He never stopped, just ran right over them. When I did my home visit mom and dad both said they rough house with him, that's the only way they play. For the longest time nobody wanted to play with him. You know something is going on at home and mom just doesn't want to believe it about her child 😞 If they confront the issue it can get better.
The rest of the day didn’t go any better. I don’t go back until Tuesday so I’m done with him. No one wants to hear their child has issues. My oldest tested us and is still testing us but we address his issues. (I swear we were on the Principals speed dial.)

Sorry the day didn't get any better DMC :hugs I don't know how things change for the better if the parents aren't on board.
