It was for me Other than I could have died twice.

The first was driving the rental car down from Haleakala, tour bus coming up NEVER got out of my lane. Had it not been for a timely wide spot in the road I'd have been a splat on the front of the bus or over the side.

That was worse than the flight back from Maui to Oahu later that day. I was in the back, after the plane took off there was wind noise behind me. Then the rear door popped open. Fortunately it was a prop plane, not moving too fast and the pilot boxed a turn and landed. Then they closed the door REALLY well and off we went again

i usually know where i put things if i sit and think about it, can tell you things that happened years ago but can't remember where i put things last week

Around here, I can find DH's stuff. And he can find my stuff. We just can't find our own stuff.

We used to have a BYC member that lived in Hawaii, Michael O'Shay. Anyone else remember him? He lived there for quite a while with his extended family. It finally got so crowded and over-run, they sold up and moved to Montana.

Gotta have a lot of money to visit Hawaii often
My sister and brother-in-law lived there for 2 years. It can be expensive to live there plus you kinda get "cabin fever". If you want to go to another island you need to fly. And then you need to get transportation on that island. Heat and A/C are cheap though, most people don't have either. But plan to spend some money on Tupperware. My sister said EVERYTHING edible that can grow mold will do so and SOON. Have to put it in Tupperware as soon as you get it home from the store.


I kinda resemble that "remark". I do get some things finished but there are some that drag on for a REALLY long time. Out of sight, out of mind, other things pop up and become more important.

That was an exciting trip!

Kind of like traveling from SF to Sacramento on 80....

was surprised at how much meat we got back, 110 lbs plus the lard, now i have to process it , it looks good, i like this butcher, he also cured the hams and bacon for us and sliced the ham up for us(we don't care much for baked ham)

Glad to hear you're happy with the job he did. That's a lot of meat for the freezer!
