Hey Deb, how is your foot doing?Good morning again Cap!
Hey Deb, how is your foot doing?
I just can’t understand why??Me too, I like being home. Unfortunately no one will drive my groceries all the way out here, pick up my mail from the post office and then change my car's oil & rotate my tires.![]()
It won’t be long and we’ll have warnings like that here. The wind and lack of rain is going to start hurting us.We are under a red flag fire warning due to low humidity and sustained north winds today until 8pm
I’ll post them. I would like to do fun decorations but she’s trying to keep cost down. She’s buying the ingredients and I’m donating my time. The tacos are amazing!! They top them with a lightly seasoned cole slaw type thing with a rice vinegar dressing, OMG. Totally drool worthy!
I change my mind too much to just grab and go.
Sounds like your day is busy as well! I would also like to see your cupcakes, my mom enjoys seeing pics too. She used to be into cake decorating and was always baking for someone.
I would love to have groceries delivered. I hate grocery shopping. But when you move will you have those options? I gotta tell ya, I used the shopping service for the first time and it was fantastic!
I was wondering about your winds. If it's gusty and windy here it usually is there too. The cartoon made me laugh but really, it's almost too accurate.
When things are more normal here I might try grocery delivery.I just can’t understand why??
My groceries were expensive but I had a lot of meat. Their stuff is so much fresher then my local store.

I have learned to take lots of breaks, especially in the heat. Ordered wood to build my goat house. My foot is doing ok Cap, thanks for asking. It helps that I'm not working so whenever I need to, I can rest it. I think my foot is teaching me to pace myself.![]()
Our town is too small for delivery service. When things are more normal here I might try grocery delivery.
Currently you we have to wait up to a week for some things to be delivered
Oh my gosh you gave me goosebumps.Okay folks, we've had something really dangerous happen that I think others should be aware of but don't know where to post it. Looking for ideas...
For years, I've used my Weber Chimney to start my charcoal and put it on the shelf below the grill to cool. I'm anal about making sure there are no coals left in the chimney before I put it away.
So Friday we had steaks for dinner and I did my usual and put the chimney on the bottom shelf of the grill and moved on... Saturday morning we woke up late, but still dark out. I went out for my morning smoke and see a cloud of smoke around the light and smell smoke, but can't see anything burning. I investigate, even with a flash light, and nothing... Can't see anything burning and no flames.
After staring at the light for a bit, I realize the smoke is coming from my winter heater. I carefully check it for heat and it's cold, so I move it and see that the deck has red embers on it. So I work to water down the red embers. I'm totally confused as to how this is possible. So I go get the flashlight again and realize that the deck has been on fire all night long. Counting the heater, there were four propane tanks over the fire. After moving a bunch of stuff, I found more red embers and more burning wood. Dowsed everything with water and apparently succeeded in killing the fire. This never flamed up and never moved into the wall (thankfully). But is very scary. I know treated lumber is fire retardant, but this was very weird for me.
I have no idea how the fire started, why it didn't get worse and why it was so easy to put out. My best theory is that having put the chimney in the same spot for so many years the wood became susceptible to fire and spontaneously combusted.
All I lost were a couple of 2X6's and some cross beams. But this was a scary event and I think folks need to be warned that this possibility exists.
