Good luck NFC!!
Aww, you guys are the best! Thanks for all the good luck![]()
Yesterday didn't go too badly. We had some nice people drop by just to see how things were shaping up and some cool stories about their early years on this course. This place was actually built by the refinery employees back in the '50's and a few of them are still around. One thing DH and I really want to do is bring out the history of the course and make them feel at home (something sadly lacking from previous management). We also had several current employees come out with their families and play (and play and play, lol).
Still having issues with the cash registers and a lack of employees and some equipment battles but at least we got out of here at 8:30pm. Only a 14 hour day instead of the marathons we've been doing.
Last night around sunset I set out on a golf cart to shag some balls from the driving range. The sky was pink, purple and blue, the hills and mountains around us (we're sort of in a bowl) were just beginning to turn into silhouettes, birds swooping after their dinner and antelope munching on the roughs...it was absolutely gorgeous.
I'm tired and sometimes frazzled but I really like it here.
Glad things are a little better - but those long hours after your traumatic voyage there must leave you quite tired now.
I hope the owner's budget will provide you with the equipment and employees to make this an easier adventure.
Thanks for the update Debby, and good to know that yesterday was not a total loss. I'm sure pretty soon you'll have things up and running and sorted out the way you and DH want it. Remember to take some pics of the scenery next time you are out shagging![]()
The budget isn't as much of an issue as the poor relations that occurred because of the previous management. People were left with a really negative impression after the past couple of years and that's one of our biggest battles...got to win people back, both as employees and members.
Remember to stop for a few minutes and enjoy a moment or two...it makes a difference.
Hopefully the road smooths out a little and you don't have to kill yourselves everyday.
Thinking about you Deb.....![]()
