Monsoon season has been seriously disappointing here in Colorado for the past three years. We did get a decent shower today though

I have but it was probably 55 years ago. Back then you could drive in, choose a campsite and put money in an envelope at the ranger station every day. Now if you want to camp you have to make a reservation, basically in the first 1/2 hour after they start taking them in January. Also back then Mirror Lake was a lake year round. Now it is more of a spring wetland and a summer meadow due to sedimentation. Makes me sad. Forget that iconic picture of Half Dome reflected in the Lake.

I too remember back in the 1960s when National Parks were easy to get onto and quiet. It doesn't seem right that one has to make a reservation to get in now. I guess the population has grown too large for our parks!

Fox crowed today. Our son was having a screaming meltdown over a game barnie) and his sister was trying to help him but getting frustrated that he wouldn't let her (more yelling), then DH was yelling to try and sort them out rolleyes so Fox decided to add his voice to the general melee. He crowed quite well I thought and quite a number of times too. Once things calmed down all was quiet again. He hasn't made a peep since.
