The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

He hasn't made a peep since.
So everyone but you was yelling at DS to SHUT UP!! ;)
DD2 was, and is, an easily frustrated person.

Fortunately the dog has no idea it's gonna be vet time in a couple hours. :D
I don't think dogs care all that much because CAR RIDE!!!! Cats on the other hand ... Though I did once have a cat that liked car rides. She was good until we pulled into the vet's parking lot and she figured out where she was. Then NOT a happy cat. I've seen dogs happily wagging and pulling their owner to the door then get a whiff when the door opens and try like mad to get back to the car.

Good morning. Thanks; maybe the storms will make it to you too, you're just next door.

Good luck at the vet today!
Thanks IM! Lollie will do fine. Actually we got a bit over rain over night, not a lot but we will take what we can get!

Yes cats have never been fond of car rides, :p I am surprised your cat liked them! Lollie loves his car rides, he gets so beside himself when we are leaving! He has been to the vet SO many times these past couple years and he has learned to recognize the time it takes to get there, the direction the car turns and the sound of the gravel parking lot. He starts shaking so bad, poor dog.

Poor puppy! Maybe he needs a few "Sunday drives" just so the car isn't ALWAYS a trip to the Vet.

Powder was originally my sister and BIL's cat but when he reupped for 2 years of shore duty in Hawaii (and $10K) I brought her here from So. Cal. LONG cage quarantine for animals brought into HI since they don't have rabies there.

I don't know how she got to like car rides, maybe they took her in the car a lot when she was a kitten. She liked to go sailing too. Had to put netting up on the lifelines so I didn't have to worry about her sliding over. Somewhere I have a picture (35mm print) of her sleeping in the half closed cloth shade of the hatch over the V berth of the boat I had. That was 30-35 years ago.

G'morning all. Went out to sit on the patio with the pups, beautiful sky this morning! 40% chance of rain :fl really hoping it happens. With thunder and lightning.

Hi Bob, you also!

Gorgeous morning sky IM, hope you get some rain!

We had a 40% chance predicted yesterday but it never happened.

Now that's a picture I'd like to see Bruce!

Well the trip to the Vet with Lollie was to be expected I suppose considering how advanced his heart disease has come these last 6 months. The Vet said its getting quite advanced now, lots of fluid around his heart enough to displace it. Its beating with such force it gives the impression he has tremors, his body shakes that much. The heart is beating quite abnormally now, valves flapping, only half the heart is working. In the past a medication adjustment lasted about 2 months, then it was time to add or increase a dosage. Vet says there are no more meds to add but has increased the meds to their max now. He isn't in any pain and still seems to enjoy life as much as an elderly dog can. Time to just appreciate every moment with him now, I think we are in the final stretch with him. :hit
