The cheek fluff cracks me up. I finally have another egg externally pipping but I've only just noticed it and it's 12.30pm here. What are the chances of it hatching before I need to go to bed? This little one is being so good and the kids are giving it lots of attention. DH is looking for a bigger teddy bear at the shops for it to snuggle with. The little one I use for quail doesn't quite cut the mustard.

I hatch them in the bedroom so they usually wake me up when they hatch in the middle of the night

I couldn't find a photo with the quail but our Old English Game bantams appreciated the little teddy when they were teensy.

Fuzzy Face is less than impressed by these teddies and much prefers to yell for a human. He just wants to be able to see a person, then he's happy. I might pop him back in the incubator overnight as there are 3 eggs pipping now. He can lend some encouragement (and not yell at us all night).

I got up at 4.30am (not long ago) to find my little go getter had hatched already. It's still drying off but I'll probably whip it out once it is dry because the others aren't doing much yet. It's so cute with its partridge stripes.
