We have a step grandson that is 5 and a 4 year old grand daughter in Finland. Emory is the first we get to see that old.

Oh wow Finland and I'm sad because my son and his family live 3.5 hours away...I can't even imagine that distance! I'm glad that you got to see & hold her...they are so precious!

We see them via skype. My DW has made it over there twice but since she was a teacher and now retired she can spend 6 weeks on a trip like that.

The fires are being contained but there is a lot inside of the containment still burning. We have an inversion layer over us and winds blowing the smoke this way. We are going to have 150 to 200 air quality for the next 5 days. That is orange to purple on the map.

How do you breathe when it's that bad? That's scary, ours got up into the low 80's and I couldn't handle it... be careful!!

It is hard to breathe and my eyes sting!

My DW has to use her inhaler.

If we are outside for long periods, we are supposed to use N95 masks

That's awesome...but still a long time between visits! My son and his wife might move to Hawaii at some point...he's always sending info on places for us to buy, so we can sell our house and move there too...lol

We did get to see the new Grand Daughter for the first time yesterday. She is so cute!

That's awesome...but still a long time between visits! My son and his wife might move to Hawaii at some point...he's always sending info on places for us to buy, so we can sell our house and move there too...lol

You are correct! They cannot come here to visit.

I really hope the fires are out soon. They air has been bad for a long time
