The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Other than going to get feedback, nothing that I know about 🤷 just another day.

How about you? How's your weather today?

It’s pretty nice out there in the mornings these days but the afternoons are still a bit warm. I’m doing housework today, mopping up he house and cleaning my bathroom. Going to make lefse which is a Norwegian flatbread made from potatoes, thin like a tortilla but moist. It’s a tradition from my fathers family to have during the holidays and I haven’t made it in years so I need some practice! Going to try flattening them with my tortilla press instead of rolling, the boys should have fun with that! Aiden gets to make gravy from scratch and I’ll make the Kjottkaker. We might make some brownies with the Dutch cocoa and espresso powder too.

She's fallen victim to autocorrect. We're going to get Feed. It's about an hour and a half drive one way and just for fun we might pop into publix for some grocery shopping if we need anything that we can't get locally.

Sounds like a yummy baking day, your Norwegian flatbread sounds so good :drool and what's the other Kjottkaker? Your home is going to smell heavenly.
I want to come to your home!!

Haha, that autocorrect can create confusion! That’s quite a drive for feed my goodness!

Kjottkaker is meatballs. No eggs or breadcrumbs, just hamburger, milk, a few spices, some cornstarch and flour traditionally. A lot of people eat lefse with butter and sugar but we always had it with meatballs and gravy.

Publix!!!!!! My most favorite grocery store (one I actually didn't mind going to). That's one thing I miss from the East, there aren't any out here.

Thanks for the explanation...the meatballs sound delisherous :drool

We shall see how they turn out, it has been many moons since I’ve made them.

I bet they'll be good! If you're happy with how they turn out, maybe you could share the recipe with us.

P.S. This is what I get for foot prints 🐾 Does that mean something?🤣
