I'm glad I don't live where there is nasty winter weather!Let me know if this works
I think Sue should ground you since you grounded her, don't need two of you with broken arms. We're not going anywhere until this thaws.
Doesn't that also let the cherubs escape?Opening the door to the hallway lets in a cool draft so that’s an option if I sweat![]()
So does your ice cream.Morning folks. I don't mind the cold - I "keep" better with it.
Exciting news - my DH has finally found a job.
Congratulations to your DH on the new job! Is this closer to home for him?It was nice to not be feeding little cockatiels every few hours. Nice while it lasted. I had a baby hatch yesterday in the aviary and this morning it was yelling its head off and hadn't been fed. So it is now inside with one of the older babies as a cuddle buddy. I left the oldest out there as I'm hoping it's nice enough to keep as it's split to a mutation I want to bring out.

Exciting news - my DH has finally found a job. Its a place just down the road who make blood products from cattle blood. The guy wants to expand his business and the job DH applied for he was way over qualified for, but the owner is willing to take him on and train him up and once they get their 'clean room' up and running DH will be in charge of that. That's where they'll be able to filter out bacteria to make a more valuable product.

At least not the kind people aren't prepared for since it is highly unusual.
Stay safe.

Fabulous! And relatively no commute time as well.
He was working down in Auckland so he would drive down, stay at my parents the days he was working then drive all the way back up again which was hard on everyone (3 hours each way). Then he got made redundant when Covid hit (it was a convenient excuse for his company to get rid of him) and he's been on the job seekers benefit (not sure what the equivalent would be in the US) ever since.Congratulations to your DH on the new job! Is this closer to home for him?
Oh wow Cap...I'm so sorry that you are having such a hard time, that's just awful, but I'm glad that you are safe and warm!Wind shields completely shattered. And roofs bashed in.

I think we're on the 4th day of no power. Lost 3 incubators of eggs... and the living room has assorted bins of various ages of chicks. It's not the best situation. No water, no fridge. Hubby has an inverter and is powering the freezer. A neighbor loaned us her small generator, so the birds have a bit of light. The woodstove has been burning pretty much constantly. So at least we are warm, although kind of smelly. Lol.
