The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I decided to edit my comment, to stay in a happier frame of mind!

I hope you can get a new freezer soon! :)
:hugs Sorry for being so serious. We may seem far removed from the world down under here but we really are very reliant on the rest of the world.

We need to reduce the number of cattle we have, especially seeing as our 3 heifers that we got AI'd seem to all be in calf. They'll be September babies. There's one I'm especially hoping will have a girl calf so I can halter train it as my future house cow. :fl

You don't need to apologize at all. I totally understand where you are coming from. I'm just a little frustrated right now with the way things are being done here, I was on my soapbox & I shouldn't have gone there.

That's exciting, I've thought about getting a milk cow & raising another for food. An in the house cow or a near the house cow? :)

A house cow is a term for the cow you milk for the house (as opposed to the rest who are milked for profit - not that I'd want a dairy farm). Our Maisy wouldn't think twice about inviting herself in if she could too. 🤣 She's the one I'm hoping will have a girl. She's bred to a Salers bull which is a dual purpose French breed of cattle. I didn't want to put her to a dairy breed as we don't need oceans of milk but the Salers are milked in France and there's a type of cheese only made with Salers milk.

I've been doing this all day long...my brain is just not there...🤣 I woke up way too early & I caught about a 10 minute cat nap this afternoon, so now I can't fall asleep. I really should try again.
I hope you get your girl & she has a sweet temperament! 💞

Please be sure to let me know if she ever does go into the house...:D
