Good afternoon all. Today is my daughters birthday so had to make a cake before work and frosting after work. Chocolate mayonnaise cake with cream cheese frosting…pretty easy. I used my homemade vanilla for the first time, which smells pretty good and tastes like vanilla extract. Think I’ll leave it to soak the full year though.

You can use it, and add more vodka.

Do you have vanilla bean sugar? get a 4 cup sealed container and put two vanilla beans in it. Add more sugar to it as you use it up and alternate replacing one vanilla bean every 6 months.

It can replace vanilla in a recipe but I still add vanilla extract. It give a double vanilla flavor to the baked goods.

I’ve never thought about using the vanilla sugar, good idea!
