What sort of beans are you going to harvest? Hope you get some good weather for it

Soybeans and then corn follows that. I hope the weather stays dry too as the prices are terrible and we don't want to add drying costs to it. Nice job on the sign!

Sunflour, you're right...it's very helpful having someone else around at least part of the time. "S" is an awesome kid and a pleasure to work with. She's always on time, does whatever needs doing, has saved all her paychecks to buy a car and has been a big help with the lunch part of the place. She's enjoyed the food handling part so much, this year she got into an internship with a local restaurant and is learning all sorts of new things. She'd like to eventually get into a culinary school (I like to feel we've had a tiny part in getting her started

).

This is one of the projects we did together this summer. The tee signs hadn't been painted for years so refreshed them with a new coat of paint. There's still a bit of work left to do on them (the handicap info) but they look 100% better than they did before. Here are the before & after pictures:

Signs are looking good, Debby! Are you looking forward to things slacking off a little? I remember in the restaurant business, January used to drag after the adrenalin rush of every service during Christmas time. Having said that, I'm sure that you and DH need to catch your collective breaths after such a hectic few months!

Sounds to me like you've earned that deep sleep

How did the field trials go for you?
Dogs got a first, third and fifth at the first trial and two thirds at the second. Very good judging - old fashioned!
Sounds a nice end to the day Sour, but no banana bread? Need to have a word with Princess

Bananas are getting there - soon to become banana bread.

In answer to your question about looking forward to things slacking? That would be a big YES! Only about 5 more weeks and then the doors shut for the season. We'll have about a month or two to winterize everything but then our time will be our own

Good morning fine ladies

What were you saying yesterday sunflour, about not being motivated? Here it is almost 6am and I just can't get things moving.
