Good morning!

Beings I have nothing more to do right now and am too lazy to go out to the barn right now, I shall give the proper and correct answer to the "mayo Debate".

First, using Miracle Whip should be a hanging offense.

I am not a huge Mayo fan.

If I use it must be Hellmanns! Debate over..

Now about this "Mayo De Cinco" stuff!

It has to end. My wife and I got married on May 5th way back when. No one had heard of "Mayo De Cinco" then 20 to 30 years or so later, I hear rumors of some immigrating culture trying to usurp our Anniversary.

Now All I hear about at that time is "Mayo De Cinco" I tell you what that was our day, You go put that whatever it celebrates on a different day! Leave ours alone...

I want to hear about how lucky she was to get a catch me and how she really married up, you know the normal stuff to feed my little ego.
Guess that will put a stop to the usurpers once and for all!

Here's an explanation to it for you, I found it on the internet so you know it's true.

"For me Sinko de Mayo is truly a day to celebrate. Few people have come to know the “true” story of the origin of Sinko de Mayo. It is my pleasure to set the record straight.
A little known fact is that back in 1912, Hellmann’s mayonnaise was manufactured in England. In fact, the Titanic was carrying 12,000 jars of the condiment scheduled for delivery in Vera Cruz, Mexico, which was to be the next port of call for the great ship after its stop in New York. This would have been the largest single shipment of mayonnaise ever delivered to Mexico but as we know, the great ship did not make it to New York.
The ship hit an iceberg and sank and the cargo was forever lost. The people of Mexico, who were crazy about mayonnaise and were eagerly awaiting its delivery, were disconsolate at the loss. Their anguish was so great that they declared a National Day of Mourning, which they still observe to this day.
The National Day of Mourning occurs each year on May 5 and is known, of course, as Sinko de Mayo.
Go out on this day, grab a couple of slices of Wonderbread and a jar of Hellman’s mayonnaise and have a party. You know I will!"

I know too much mayo can make one feel a little queasy, but never thought it could sink a ship!

This is good to know, however, the Titanic sank on April 15th, a day all people dread. I know my stomach gets tied in knots for weeks before the anniversary of the sinking. So I say you move the day to the 15th and leave our Anniversary alone! BTW I think we were married before the titanic sank, I know our kids are pretty sure we were.

Does a Hoagie really need a day?

I think some people are stretching it with these "days".

I doubt the Oyster really cares if he has a day or not.

Absolutely a Hoagie needs a day, especially those party-size ones.

True, some are a stretch but in this age of trying not to offend anyone/anything by omission it's just easier to give everything a day and only celebrate the ones that are meaningful to you (like Oyster day for me).
