When it comes to gardening, it sounds like you were cut from the same cloth as my husband . . . sorta. Several years ago, he took over the garden, and planted peppers. LOTS of peppers. About a dozen different varieties, at least 10 of which were hot peppers, from Hungarian Wax peppers to Habaneros. Here's the kicker - he's the only person in the family that eats them; we still have bags of hot peppers in the freezer that I don't dare throw out.

Morning and happy New Year!

I think we see our first party goer here now....

Banty some fool on the guinea thread is lying about dux~!

He speaks truth!
I did not raise any corn last year.

But I have one freezer full of cauliflower and Broccoli.   Way too much. I think we could eat them 5 times a week for a year.

I tried planting corn, only got a dozen ears... So I cheated and bought 3 bushels from a farm stand.

I will plant corn if I get around to plowing the field. Corn just takes up too much room in the garden to justify the yield I get when corn is so cheap to buy.

Fruitcake is great!! My daughter got me one from Amazon made by some monks in Oregon. Those Monks need to learn to bake a little better though.

The bottom was slightly burnt, so I had to cut the bottom 1/8 inch off before it tasted good. and it was Delicious than!!

My parents used to get a fruitcake every year from the Collin Street Bakery in Corsicana, TX: https://www.collinstreet.com/online_bakery_gift/deluxe_fruitcake?previous_url_id=0

Love that fruitcake, packed full of pecans!

DH did almost the same gardening trick a couple years ago only it was with banana peppers. Got to the point I was tossing them to the chickens and neighbors driving by.

I like the looks of that one. Is the bottom burnt when you get it?

I cannot believe how expensive fruit cake is, Safe that URL for me so I can get it next year. I am the only one around here that likes fruitcake, so it lasts a while.

Never got one with a burnt bottom, I don't think there were any monks cooking them. You just let me know when you want the URL and I'll get it to you. And these do last a while, they come nicely packed in a metal tin (suitable for re-using)

@Blooie putting out an sos to you!

Where the Sam Hill does a person in WY get flannel pj's? It's the craziest thing...when I lived in FL I could buy flannel sleepwear 6 months out of the year. Now I live where I really need them and can't find them at any of the stores around here. Could go online but it's just weird to think local stores don't carry them. (Besides, I'm cheap and impatient...I don't want to pay shipping and I want/need them now!)

Vermont Country Store. Go online and order their catalog. I get all of mine from there and I love them. They don't pill after repeated washings! Kinda spendy but in the case of anything flannel you get what you pay for! I also love my flannel lined jeans, and I get them at Cabelas. But those you have to try on.....the flannel lining makes them fit funny so just going by your regular size is tough. Ken likes the fleece lined ones but I prefer flannel - again I have this thing about pilling and his fleece lined ones pill after washing.

Edited - I know you didn't want to have to order, but I'm at a disadvantage here because I don't know what retailers you have in your area.
