Hi Sunflour! Yes, I just got home. I'm sure glad you're getting nice weather. It is so cold and windy here but sounds like next Monday we will hit 30*. Woohoo, can't wait!! I got my first egg today in quite awhile...hubby found it cracked of course but maybe the girls will fire up again. I do not like buying eggs.

I would have to disagree after looking at the forecasted temps for tomorrow. My chickens might have to learn to suck on ice cubes for water..if they don't learn, it will be bad luck for them..

Thinking about the Black Australorps we had...maybe ours were just the bad apples. We started with 3...1 did a kamikaze dive into the coop wall and broke her neck. 1 was broody almost non-stop. And the other was a complete B to all the other birds, very nasty tempered thing.

Funny because most members talk about how wonderful they are. Ours were total jerks.

I had three Australorps but lost one last summer due to a backend blowout! My other two are pretty calm unless another ticks them off.
