Not sure, I have loved my BR's and BO's - but really don't want any more frequently broody hens.

There's a feed/pet/farm supply place only 2-3 minutes from my home that gets baby chicks in March - will check with what they are ordering and then decide which to get.

I'm still nervous about intro to the 2 spoiled 4 year olds, but plenty of time to plan for that.

But definitely getting some newbies...e

I don't love my Buffs. 1 went broody this fall and she was not pleasant...wasn't pleasant before that either...neither was the other. Mine growl...I love my barred rocks! They are my yappers

Oooh, I just realised it is Friday the 13th ... better steer clear of black cats, in this heat they could be doing these ones .....

We're both right. That's what we had on the farm growing up. We had a cat named Ralph that looked like a miniature Holstein also

Speaking of Holsteins... How many of you remember the Red Holsteins?

I have not seen one in years. Or I might have and just assumed it was an Airedale.

Talking about freezers

I was listening to the radio last night and a caller advised that one way to beat the heat was to put your pillowcase in the freezer until bed time. Another caller thought she said pillow and was busily trying to stuff her pillow in the freezer. I would put the mattress in there with me on it if I could
