The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Blooie, so nice to see you! I was thinking of you this morning, figured you'd been busy. DH is getting better every day. He has his follow-up appointment tomorrow, expecting a good report. My Opie is doing great today. After I brought him home from his surgery he was pretty groggy and slept most the day. This morning he's full of p & v...he's been terrorizing Bam and Pip, knocking things off my desk, playing in their water bowl and racing from one end of the house to the other. Lol, I'd say he's feeling pretty good today. I have a special Valentine for you Blooie... :lau
Happy Valentine's Day to all!! I'm glad your Opie is doing great and hasn't lost his zippity do da

So I'll get about a days break and mine will be heck on wheels again?

Aww, so sweet! And I didn't get you anything. <sigh> I'm a failure.

Been too sick to be "busy", Debby. Got hit hard by the flu, and ended up being ill-er-er than I though from it. So a few rounds of fluids, a little, um, enforced bed rest, and I figure in about 20 more years I should be back to whatever passes for normal. Funny, the hospital even ended up on quarantine. But home in time to get the house ready, laundry caught up, and get packed for a fun filled 4 day in Omaha. Who the heck goes to Omaha in February? Last year we were supposed to go to Madison, Wisconsin for this event but I had a little heart attack the day before our flight left so I got out it. This year my timing was bit off......

Blooie, sorry to hear you've been sick! In the hospital too? Glad you're home.

At least home in time to leave again. I agree, what's up with Omaha in February? I vote for HI next year...feel free to tell "them" I said so.

Stay healthy!!!!!!

It's just hard to keep a good Opie down DMC, lol.

You might get about a day of peace and quiet but be ready for the day after!

Over and over. Then it's on to other fun things. Like walking past my bare feet and suddenly biting my toe. DH says he's paying me back for yesterday.

Just be ready DMC!

Blooie Thank You! I thought you were just busy with the grand kiddies etc; sorry to hear that you were unwell and hope you are feeling much better now. Enjoy your time in Omaha.

You guys n’ gals would be more than welcome! However, I would not wait until it cools down .. it does not cool down in Far North Queensland

Maximum temp over the year rarely drops below 77F and it can peak around 111F.
Minimum temp over the year rarely drops below 57F.
The humidity is the kicker, rarely dropping below 50% over the year and on average 70%.
Average annual rainfall is 1,143mm [45 inches].
Plus it is cyclone season between November and April.

Mark Wednesday 12th of July on your Calendar, that might just be bearable

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentines. Lucky you getting roses, sunflour. Glad you are feeling better Blooie - poor you!

My two little waifs are doing ok. They are eating pretty well. I got up to feed them at 2.30am this morning then got up to start the day at 5.30am (as did our son!) so I'm a bit shattered. I never was very good at doing night time feeds with my two when they were babies. I'm an early to bed, early to rise kind of person, and I need at least 5 solid hours to feel half human.

Here is Luvy on the left and Valentine on the right. I'm glad I know that in a week they are going to look adorable, though they aren't quite as well covered with feathers compared to the first batch of babies. Their parents couldn't care less and are quite happy helping out with the fledglings.

I'm taking over feeding the Bourke babies tomorrow as they are 2 weeks old (perfect age to hand rear from) and one is starting to look a bit smaller than the other, so I'm slightly concerned.

They are so cute Jag. I used to tube feed puppies and get the blind staggers from feeding every 3 hrs. I can imagine how much worse it is to feed more often.

Yuck, humidity! Had enough of that in FL where it would run over 100% day after day.

We'll see what July 12th looks like, lol. Thanks for the welcome!
