Good morning folks

Happy birthday to your DH N F C! I guess by now your DS has left?

It looks like you had a great time together and a good visit.

The weather has been kinder to me of late, hovering around the 86-87F’s but today is predicted to go back up to 93F with a 70% chance of showers and/or a thunderstorm. 90% chance of showers on Saturday and 88F. Sunday is going to be interesting, 84F but a 90% chance of up to 2.5 inches of rain.

Busy weekend planned .. lawns to mow, coop to clean, BBQ to clean and advertise for sale, finish the shed etc etc etc

Hey DMC, with our sub tropical climate most of our rain and storms develop in the afternoon/evening and we can go from sunny morning to black and threatening afternoon and that 2.5 inches can fall in under an hour.

So, if I time it right, mow the lawns early Saturday morning, they will get a nice refreshing drink afterwards

Morning Teila,

Your weather sounds like what I used to get in FL, I kind of liked it (except for the humidity part).

You do have a busy weekend ahead. Each little step takes you one closer to meeting up with your DH and new home!

DS and I will head out this afternoon. I'll be going as far east as my cousins house to spend the weekend with her (she's about an hour away from us). DS will go farther east to spend the weekend with my mom then continue on back to his house in Kansas. It's been so wonderful to have him here, I'm really going to miss him. But hopefully he can come back again later in the year.

How can it still be cold where you guys are (other than you Teila with your gorgeous tropical weather) when it's cooling down at my end of the world? Daytime temps are ok, but we had a few cool mornings and I have 3 chickens in full moult (technically 5 but two of those girls were broody so that's the reason they are moulting). My chickens didn't moult until May/June last year so what's that telling me?! Hopefully though, that means your spring is on the way.

I got one cute shot of one of my babies. They are starting to get pin feathers sprouting everywhere. I think they are a bit behind after being half starved for awhile there. He looks so peaceful.

And here he is with his eyes open - those red eyes look quite freaky coupled with the bald head. But they look at me so trustingly that my heart melts.

N F C, hope your DH has enjoyed his birthday - how's his franken-foot doing these days?

And I cannot wait to see sunflour's chicks! Chicken chicks are so adorable!

Aww, look at those little faces and feathers! So cute. Frankenfoot is doing well. DH just left to get his pre-hernia surgery testing done...he'll get that done on Wednesday. And YES, we'll get to see Sunflour's chicks very soon!

I dunno yet. I was just glad the prizes don't include hatching eggs!

Well, we are supposed to hit 68-70 on Saturday, so if Quniton comes here it'll be mostly bluster, and we are used to that!

Hi DMC

Here in the south central part of WY where I am, the highs will be in the upper 60's and the lows in the upper 30's. And windy (of course).

I hope Quinton has a safe trip and enjoys WY!
I betcha DMC is wondering what the heck I was talking about when I said "he'll be mostly bluster"! I totally forgot that her son is coming for a visit - I'm so used to winter storms being named recently that I was thinking Quinton was yet another storm.

Too funny

And entirely understandable!

Just an update on the golf course stuff...

We now are almost done with hiring our seasonal help, yay!

We have: Cook (1 full time & 1 part-time), Bartender (1 full time & 1 part-time), Pro shop (2 full time & 1 part-time...with the possibility of 2 more part-timers coming later), Maintenance (10 full time). All that plus DH & myself. What a luxury it will be to have all that help after last season's labor drought. At least I think it will be a luxury, either that or a monumental headache keeping track of everyone, lol.

The maintenance crew will be in place the last week of this month and the rest between April 3rd through the 10th of April.

Whew!

I thought that was a bit judgmental.

Where in Kansas does your son live? My brother is in Kansas...Kinsley i believe.
