The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

I've already procured the delicious chocolate ones, no patience for chocolate here. I'm looking to add real live bunnies to my family of critters. I haven't had any yet and it seems like a logical next step in my life.

It's good when a plan comes together OHLD. What type of bunnies are you getting? Fun ones? Meat ones?

That little white one is SO cute!

And that second one is hilarious

It only took most the day, but I got my Easter contest entry done! Never tried this bread recipe before, but it was fun!

Can't wait to see what @sunflour comes up with...she always blows me out of the water at this sort of thing, lol.
That's gorgeous! Looks delicious. I finally found a contest to enter (not being in the U.S.). I entered some quail eggs in the 'natural eggs' one. Most of my chickens are moulting so not many eggs here to enter chicken eggs. But the quail are still going strong.

Here's an updated photo of my Java babies. They are looking very cute in their feathers now.

And a couple of cute quail pics - I think it's time to do away with the food bowls and use chick feeders to try and reduce the amount of wasted food!!! This is Treasure discovering the joys of dust bathing!

And here's a baby that fell asleep on his feet - they are such funny birds.

We lost one chick (my DD's favourite). It was a tiny little thing and was one that had splayed legs. It had looked fine, then suddenly it was cheeping constantly and keeping its eyes closed. I still have to tell my DD - she spent the weekend at my Mums. But we've had three more cuties hatch so 23 chicks in total.

My poor son ended up with seabather's erruption. We went to the beach on Friday afternoon and he of course wanted to go for a swim. It was quite rough so I thought he'd be alright. He was in loose board shorts and I made him take them off and rinse off in the water before he got dry. But he had a very restless night and woke up covered in itchy lumps, even in areas that weren't covered by his shorts. I suffer the same fate if I go swimming at the beach in summer, so no more swimming at the beach! It's funny because mosquitoes won't touch him, but bite his sister. But she's never had a reaction to the microscopic jellyfish that must be floating round in the water. Me - I suffer from both!!!

Blooie, you sound rushed off your feet! And I'm going to add to it by saying I want photos of those Silkie chicks!

OHLD - any particular breed you have in mind? I always wanted a rex rabbit because of their plushie fur.

I am hoping to find some mini rex. Otherwise I like the Dutch rabbits.@JaeG Gonna hit the swap meets starting next month and see what's available around here.
