The NFC B-Day Chat Thread

Wow, Teila, it doesn't look like there's any escaping all that rain! I'm hoping you, your family, your birds and property are safe.

Blooie - glad Ken's surgery went smoothly! Here's to a smooth recovery as well.

Hope you manage with all that rain Teila. Hope it doesn't flood near you.

Ugh, can't imaging interviewing and then not filing out paperwork. Sounds like you are going to be better off without those two employees, Debby. Better to find out now than later when you are relying on them to show up for a shift!

Sunflour, congrats on your badge!

We're home. He's resting now and I hope he stays that way - once the nerve block wears off sleep is going to be hard to come by. For both of us....

I'll try to pop in and chat later. Teila, I have just one word for you - YUCK!

Good luck with the patient Blooie. Hopefully he'll do as he's told and heal up quick.

Teila, hope you survive the rain. Your poor girls will need gumboots! I'm sure I've seen boots for chickens somewhere - for when you want to show them so you need to protect their feathered feet/legs.

Sorry about your staff N F C - as FridayYet said, much better to find out now than when they are calling in 'sick' for the 5th time that week, or just plain not showing up! Good help is hard to find.

I found the oldest Java baby eating the millet I'd put in their nestbox (which is quite spacious) this morning. So I'm very happy about that. It didn't want much hand raising formula so it'll be weaning itself soon.

Telia, hope the rains run off and your home and flock stay safe

Blooie, hope the doc sent home some good pain killers for when the nerve block wears off. In the "good old days" he'd be in the hospital on a narcotic pump tonite.

Debby, thanks for the offer...hmmmm warm climate vs WY winters... nope, will have to stay in GA

J, hope the Java's are all weaned very soon :)

They sent him home with two scrips and I filled one already. The second one isn't valid until after the 31 of March. He's supposed to start with the strongest one for a couple of days and then change over to the milder one, but they are both pretty potent. He historically doesn't do well with them but we'll see this time. If he's hurting enough he may use them to stay on top of the pain this time.

We turned in the hydros and the oxys after his knee replacement several years ago and again after his knuckle replacement, tendon rebuild and fusion in his right hand a few years later. He just took a couple and saId, "That's enough." If he's not going to use them then I don't want them lying around the house, either, so we take advantage of the prescription turn-in service at our local police department. I doubt he'll use any more than a couple of these, either. Who knows? Guess I'd rather have them and not need them, than need them and not have them.

It is best to have them and not need them.....you can't get a prescription filled at 3 am - when most issues arise.

Hope you both have a quiet restful night.

Gee, wonder what the cops do with the turned in drugs

I dunno but as long as they aren't in my house in case someone ever breaks in I really don't care!

(although they can help themselves to the blood thinners and stool softeners. Teehee)
